I've never posted on this thread :o (hangs head in shame)

I'm a 40-something, living with fiance in chilly Blackpool, 2 sons grown-up & away from home, work full-time, try to be OS (and TBH a lot of stuff I/we already do because we were brought up to do it by our parents - rubber chickens, using cheap cuts of meat, y/s shopping & cooking from scratch, using leftovers, switching lights off, turning thermostat down & putting a jumper on etc) but am starting to make more stuff like chutney & jam, along with wanting to reduce our bills a bit more by careful management of our income, spending & shopping habits.

Hi all, I am a sahm and have managed to do this forever by having five children aged from 35 to 13. I now look after my DGS who is two for 3 or 4 days a week and I love it!!! I am 54 and was hoping to be able to pick up my pension and child benefit at the same time but not going to manage it!! Have just downsized to a smaller house in town (always lived in villages) and really love being able to walk to the shops, doctors etc. Have always lived OS but have learnt so much from this site.

Well I suppose I should introduce myself!

I'm not telling you my age because I'm embarrassed! I have just finished working - my contract wasn't funded because of the credit crunch and I really needed a break, so I'm going to be a SAHM for a few months until I decide whether to start my own business. I live in a "new town" just outside Glasgow and I keep poultry for eggs and meat. We're also planning on digging up our entire garden to use for produce since we're unlikely to get an allotment any time this year.

    Hi everyone

I'm a (divorced) mum of 2. Work part time and love it! Do all my cooking and baking from scratch. Grow my own veg and some soft fruit, on my allotment. Make my own wine too :T
Have no debt apart from a very small mortgage and absolutely LOVE this site.

Look forward to joining in with other threads, now that I've finally signed up! Have been reading the site for a couple of years but just registered! :o

Hi :) well, Im 30-summat ;) , not working at the mo because of long term sickness (cant claim anything because DH works) we have a DD who will be 7 on xmas eve (I know...bad planning lol) and hubby has a son of 13 who stays with us at weekends. Penny pinching on a very tight budget brought me here, but there's so much more than just how to save money, there's really good people to meet too! Im proud and privilaged to be part of the MSE community!
    skint but in luv :kisses2:
