Haha, Claire- it's not that hard to do! I should be on week 8, but after the bad run I wanted to get at least 2 25 minute runs in so I've done it 4 times now. Next run is due to be Sat so would be a good time to start week 8 when it's light etc.

I know what you're saying about only being an extra 3 minutes- but 25 was still pretty tough last night! Fingers crossed it won't be too bad. Good luck to everyone running this week:T

    Hi guys :)

I've had to take this week off, due to medical reasons. Nothing too serious, but some blood results relating to some ongoing health problems came back abnormal and i was advised not to exercise until i see the GP tomorrow.

So hopefully I'll be back to it next week. I wish i were further along in the C25K plan, but like i always say, it's not a race!

Well done to everyone who is doing so well! I am seriously impressed with you all!

Hope you get good news tomorrow

I completed week 7 today - I may try and step up to more or less finish before I go away - if I do every other day it'll only leave one day of the programme left before we go to France. But then I am so tired tonight I may feel differently on Saturday

Week 3 run 3 completed this lunchtime. Oddly, I found it much harder than I expected! I woke up at the usual time, not too much to eat, plenty of water, but I found that my calf muscles were really tired, but I kept going so I suppose that's something.

Now faced with a bit of a dilemma. We are away for a week, and I am unlikely to be able to programme in the runs for week 4. In fact, I know I wont be able to - away from home, B&Bs, clothes washing availability, etc ...... it would be a lot of hassle to overcome these, added to the fact I'll be really quite busy.

I suppose the best thing to do will be to "accept" the more or less enforced week break, then repeat week 3 before moving on.

Any other views on how best to proceed?

Take the weeks break and then carry on as if you had been running. 1 weeks break shouldn't make much difference to your running.

    run 1 week 8 complete
3.9km in 28 minutes - and as usual the thought of the run was worse than actual run (not least because whichever way I go I seem to end up with a blasted hill at some point)

Think I worked it out that if I can keep that pace it would be 5km in 36mins - so figure won't completely embarrass myself when I decide to do a park run

Just back from week 8, run 1; knackered although wasn't as hard as I'd expected. Annoyingly, I forgot to use the Strava app this time, but did five times my half mile lap so about 4k hopefully.

Should be able to do Tuesday and Friday this week and then on to week 9 next Sunday- eek!

Hi Guys, long time no speak!

The test results didn't come back as i had expected, so am being referred to the hospital specialist.
I was told to avoid strenuous exercise, so had a bit of a panic and basically sat on the sofa all last week :o

Then got myself together and realised that running 5K is not 'strenuous' and i enjoy it, so i am going to continue. I just need to make sure that i eat plenty before and after, to keep my blood sugars stable.

So i will be starting week 3 again tomorrow. I've itching to get back to it, so can't wait :)

    How is everyone else doing?

I have been AWOL as well :o

I just haven't had time to fit it in, been either at work or with my son. I was getting really annoyed and frustrated with myself that I couldn't fit my runs in so made the decision to take as break so as not to stress myself out about it. I have not done anything this week and next week will be out as well due to working full time.

So I plan to start back wc 31st Oct, I will go back a week and start at wk 3 again.

Well done to all who have kept it up, I have learnt that the actually running is the easy bit, its fitting it in around life that is hard.

Sorry to hear of your health worries want2bse, I hope it all turns out well for you.

    Thanks IAMTO :)

Yes, fitting in in around everything else is difficult. I am 'lucky' (if you call it that) to be a carer for my disabled son, so had to give up my job in February to care for him. So i am home most of the day.

However, I'm going back to work in the New Year. So i want to be able to complete the C25K before then so that i can just concentrate on doing 1-2 runs a week instead of HAVING to do the 3.
