Oh man our OHs sound like twins! It's so frustrating! We only have a one bed place. My goal when debt free is to save to get a part buy part rent 3 bed duplex in this new complex in one of my fave areas of london. (I'm being really optimistic and hoping I get the 3 bed duplex, if not I'd like a 3 bed or a 2 bed duplex- we'll see, it wont be ready til 2013 which luckily gives me time to save).

What happens then? The mess will just be worse as he'll spread it out as the space is bigger. Once I'm debt free and in a bigger place I'm planning to get a cleaner once a week- for a once-over, cleaning bathrooms/kitchen/floors/dusting/hoovering etc, possibly ironing. But if OH carries on making mess everywhere I'm going to be cleaning for the cleaner!

Sigh. I love him so much- I don't understand why he can't just do 15 minutes a day- that's all it would take. Plus cleaning up mess he makes as he goes along. Nightmare.

We should start a support group!

A support group is a great idea - 'Loved-up Lasses with Messy Men'!! All we have is a one-bed flat. He used to live in a 3-bed house with his mate, and I can confirm, the mess definitely spreads!!

Generally tired, run down and not a happy bunny this week. I really need a rest. 2 NSDs for me- I made OH pick up milk and butter!

Some ebay sales gone well- laptop for over £70, another tenner here and there for some other bits. Got a few parcels to post on Friday and a few items being collected.

My bank account is refusing to set up direct debits- god know why. Nightmare. So will have to rethink my bill systems.

Flat is messy, OH is gaming too much, I am looking forward to a huge pampering session at the weekend- a little pre birthday gift to myself.

Holiday in 6 weeks- I need to get my MSE mindset ready for it so I dont blow on things for the holiday or on the holiday.

At last, mid week. Was an easy day at work. Tomorrow is busier and longer. Got lots of tricky paperwork and 'difficult' jobs ahead- not hard just time-consuming and finicky.

No real weekend plans. Fancy a night out with OH but tbh we shouldn't spend the money. Have 50% off food in some London restaurants so maybe if I can find somewhere nice to go, if not a takeaway. Apart from that just housework and shopping, meal planning, batch cooking, beauty appointment, trip to bank etc.

My bank has refused to set up 2 direct debits (sky and car insurance). I'm not sure why and currently dont have the energy/fight to ring them up and challenge it. Will pay manually this month, try setting direct debits up from another account.

ps NSD today- free wine and food with work, although gave OH £10 as he was stressing about having spent his last tenner on groceries and moaned/grumbled about it. I've spent my last money on groceries and keeping us going too but not thrown it back in his face/expected reimbursing. Big chat tonight I think.

Also have to wrap 2 more ebay parcels ready for posting on Friday (payday!).

Not much to report. Was payday yesterday and I forked out a lot towards debts. Some payments still to clear so will update once they're all done.

Need to sort the month's budget, meal plan for the week and register OH on online banking- all his digits/codes/numbers have come through.

Will write proper post tomorrow and reassess my totals etc.

    Hi all,

payday has been and gone a week ago. Every bill and debt has been paid, we have a reasonably stocked fridge, freezer and cupboards and a week's worth of fruit and veg. Fantastic.

I did the shopping this week £25 so OH will do next week. All that we need on top of that this week is bread rolls (18 for £1.50 in asda which is 9 lunches for OH) and milk as and when it runs out.

Still waiting for my £24 from MFYP to clear and a refund of £58 elsewhere.

I have £100 to last me 3 weeks. This needs to cover travel, food, and there are lots of social things to get to. I'll drive as much as possible to cut down on socialising expenses.

My market buys this week were:

    7 red peppers £1
    9 orange peppers £1
    1.5lbs of cherries £1.50
1 pack of seedless green grapes £1
    4 avocadoes £1
    11 giant tomatoes £2
    2lbs onions £0.80p
    25 satsumas £1
    7 peaches £1
    7 nectarines £1
    7 apples £1
    3 galia melons £1
    1 pineapple £0.50p
    6 limes £1
    12 free range eggs £2
2 large chicken breasts, 1.5lbs lamb mince and 2 large pork fillets £8

Total for the week £24.80 plus whatever on bread rolls, milk, sandwich meat etc

    Meal plan to follow...

Lazy day for me and OH today- I'm determined it shall be a NSD for us both (we have a lot of leftover coldcuts and bits and bobs from lunch yesterday- they will do sandwiches nicely).

So lots of laundry, hoover of our hovel, general dust and tidy up.

Have already checked online banking and no changes there. Waiting for a cheque to clear and for my quidco and MFYP funds- no sign of either.

Will check onepoll (up to £18.35), check OH's online banking.

Not much to report today but posting to keep me focused!

NSD today for me. Not feeling great at all- need to get on the mend and a good night's sleep. Have checked online banking, cheque not cleared yet. Hopefully tomorrow and money from MFYP should be here tomorrow- they said 10 working days which runs out tomorrow. Also got ebay item being picked up tonight so there's an extra fiver.

    Will post more soon x

Silly spend day for me today. Spent £12 in total plus £1.20 bus fare. All spends were on food- lunch and dinner, both of which could've been avoided by a bit of prior preparation but alas- I was like a zombie this morning. Oh well, onwards and upwards.

A busy, stressful week for me so far. I will be VERY pleased when the weekend is here and also I'll be getting some peace and quiet as OH is out on a project (voluntary) all weekend.

Behind with quite a lot of work. Can catch up but seriously lacking in motivation at the minute.

Onepoll up to £18.50. MFYP money came into my account- was instantly swallowed up by overdraft but at least that's £24 I don't have to find on payday to pay off my overdraft.

Had some poor health recently and my recovery would be greatly aided by getting healthier. Im also pretty sure my general happiness and wellbeing would improve if I was getting some exercise. I have a mentally exhausting but largely sedentary job so collapse when I get home (ie am sedentary for longer) then go to bed. Im looking at gyms and ways to effect this lifestyle change- not diet, lifestyle change. It will mean an extra monthly expense but i'm worth it. I need to invest in me- not on things for me- in me, my body, my health. Will see what's on offer.

Back to square one with flat- it's a tip. Managed to get OH to do 15 minutes with me on Sunday. Worked really well against the timer, got 90% of flat done and only overran by a few minutes. The motivation was there as his family came over. Since then nothing's been done and I am loath to do anything as he isn't- once again spending hours on the computer before doing 15 minutes of housework. Sigh. I don't know how much longer I can go on like this. He needs to step up or contribute towards a cleaner. LIFE IS TOO SHORT for me to be cleaning up after him, reminding him on a daily basis and it having no impact.

So frustrated I'm very seriously considering living by myself again!

    Hello Shoes,

I'm just popping out of lurkdom to commiserate. You sound kind of run down. :( You're probably right in that getting fitter would help you feel better. A gym is a big expense in my book but if you can find the funds it might be the perfect solution. In the meantime could you get together with a friend/colleague/your OH and do an exercise DVD or go jogging?

Is your OH the sort who would rather avoid clutter/mess than face up to it? I'm like that and I don't think it makes me any easier to live with! :D It's hard to get the 'oomph' to deal with things when those very things are dragging you down. I don't know what the answer is, apart from that a lift in spirits helps get the energy flowing. I suggest you keep a little area nice for yourself so there's always somewhere you can look at and feel good about.

I'm in the middle of working nights so my brain isn't doing too well but even if I can't offer sparkling insights I wanted you to know someone's appreciating you're finding it hard going, but is also cheering you on! :)
