Money Moral Dilemma: Should I contribute to my mum's broadband?

This week's MoneySaver who wants advice asks...
My mum's got BT broadband and I know there are much cheaper options out there, however, she gets BT Sport as part of the package and I use her login details quite often. She knows this and says she doesn't mind paying the extra so I can do that. Should I contribute to her bill?

Uh, let me think about this...
...yes!0 -
Yes. Definitely.Forty and fabulous, well that's what my cards say....0

I think it depends on the situation. If she is choosing to get this package even if you have said you don't mind her switching then that's her choice. If you're asking her to keep the package for you then you should offer to pay some.0

If she's hard up on money then yes, if not then no but help her out if and when she needs it.0

Nah, you've got a good scam going0

If you can afford to help, and she could use the cash, it would be decent of you to help regardless of if you use the service or not.
She's your mum - I'm sure the cash will make it's way back round to you somehow anyways. That sounds like a classic case of premature extrapolation.

If you use it - you pay towards it!! Only fair.0

Completely depends on your relationship - both emotional & financial with your mum.
She may also (like me) be a bit bewildered by options out there, and wants to stick with what she knows even if it is a bit dearer.0 -
I never quite understand these posts as they really have only one answer and that is if your moral compass is correctly placed.

My grandparents have £50.000 in cash under the kitchen sink in a biscuit tin and I am wondering if it is okay to help myself as they clearly have no need for it.

The BT Sport is free with the BB package - we don't watch it ourselves, but would be happy for my children to use it and wouldn't dream of charging them for it. We also get Sky Go included as part of our Sky package: I have no use for it as I don't watch TV unless I'm at home, but again, I'm happy for my sons to use it on their ipads. Both my boys are early 20's, one in RAF single accom, one in a shared flat in London but DD is married with her own home, so she pays her own TV/BB package.
Obviously if the OP's mum (or subject of this MMD) needs the cash, that's a different matter, but don't most families share what they have without dividing up costs?0
