They wouldn't even let me open a second one a few weeks ago :\ You can have four?
  • A spokeswoman for TSB says: "The Classic Plus Account was designed as a transactional bank account to help customers with their day-to-day banking needs. Unfortunately, we've seen some customers using their additional accounts as a savings account, so these changes will help ensure the account is used as it was intended.
I really find it hard to believe that the gurus at TSB didn't foresee this.

You can have 2 personal and 2 joint (you joined with someone and someone joined with you).

When I opened my 2, I selected "Savings" in the "Purpose of Account" box - makes you wonder why:
    (a) they had Savings in the drop-down, and
    (b) why they accepted anyone who sleected it!

Same here. Plus, from their credit search(es) they could probably tell that I already held more than 1 other current account. Granted, they couldn't tell from which institutions but with some inference they could figure out if someone was using current accounts to get the best interest rate deals and was -not- applying with intent to switch.

Likewise. I opened my second account in branch and the manager actually offered to set up the standing order from one to the other so I didn't have to pay anything in (their words).
