Money Moral Dilemma: Should I pay towards my friend's plane ticket?

I've won a freebie ticket to New York for a trip I'm going on with a friend. She still has to pay full whack for her ticket and wants me to pay half? Should I stump up the cash?

Were you both going on the trip anyway and it's a coincidence that you won a ticket, or did you win the ticket and ask your friend to go with you at full cost for it?

Up to you - either you go on your own - for free - or you get a half price holiday with a 'friend'.

I would prefer my own company in this circumstance.

A good friend would offer to pay half without needing to be asked. Sounds like you need to admit to yourself that you hate your friend.

Depends on how much you value your friend. But I would not be forced into paying half.

Doesn't sound like the type of friend you should go with, if she is 'telling' you to pay half !

I'd have offered to pay half without having been asked......but there again I'm friends with people who I know would walk over hot coals for me and me for them

She'd go down in my estimation beacsue she actually asked. If she hadn't then I might have chosen to pay half of hers. Now I'd feel a bit uncomfortable going on holiday with her.

Yes I would go halves with friend. Did you win one ticket and then friend booked to go with you or booked two tickets and then got yours free. Would still go halves anyway or give a really good discount on friends ticket.

If you asked her to go because you had won a free ticket and wanted company then you should contribute to hers. If you were both going anyway and the win came later then I think its yours to take advantage of of but perhaps you could be a bit generous with the meals and sightseeing when you get there.
