Yep, there has to be an end to this terror from the billionaires against those who have a right to go out on a Saturday night with just their Lloyds/Halifax/TSB/BoS debit cards to get them home safely. How incredibly outrageous of the Lloyds group to interfere with the recreational rights of those hardworking people, and to jeopardise their safety on the way home.0

Might actually be a (minor) issue in Scotland.
BOS and TSB are two of the biggest banks - their ATMs and cards out of action are sure to catch a few people out! This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
How many people normally go out on their own on a Saturday night? I wouldn't like to do it myself. Personally I go with about 3 - 4 other people and we always go in car with a dedicated alcohol-free driver.
Loads of people! As I type, buses and taxis all over the UK are full of people on their own heading out to meet friends. Plenty of them will say their goodbyes at the end of the night and head off home alone too. Perhaps via the cash machine to get some cash for a taxi.0 -

"As you type" isn't a Sunday morning between 1:30 and 7 am, for when the announced outage is scheduled. How are you and your friends coping with any unannounced outages?Might actually be a (minor) issue in Scotland.

Me and my friends? I'll be tucked up in bed!:) However, 10 years ago I would have been heading home at that time on a Sunday morning. The streets in any city have loads of people heading home in the early hours on their own after nights out.
I know that it's not Sunday morning as I type and I wasn't complaining about the outage. For what it's worth, I'm well prepared for such events. Grommit asked how many people went out on their own on a Saturday night. I know that lots of people do, and talking about what's happening out in the real world right now seems to me to be a good way to illustrate the point. As I'm sure you know, Friday and Saturday nights are rather similar in terms of what people get up to.0 -
Perhaps people who are going out all on their own with just one means of payment should be having a reality check - - - as they might get stranded at any time without any warning.
Is this too hard to understand?0 -
When on a night out I always have an extra £20 in a separate bit of my purse as emergency taxi money, seems sensible to me.
TSB text me yesterday to let me know the cash machines would be down on Sunday, good service in my opinion. The trouble with the world is that the stupid are cocksure and the intelligent are full of doubt.Bertrand Russell0 -
What is the big deal actually.
They giving plenty of notice to either get cash or find an alternative.
If people cant read or understand them then it's tough. Plus who's out clubbing on a sunday night. Theres a reason why banks picked this time. less demand for the service.0 -

I realise I had a few glasses of wine last night but can't see the linkage with a referendum debate.Must be another major reason to vote "Yes". 'nuff said. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0
