The link to the opticians act on page 1 is now out of date
Its now this

I am printing this off for my free tesco eye test tomorrow in case they will not give me any prescription that arises from the test if I do not buy any glasses
Im not sure about the optical express issue because in that case they might say that because you will not pay the £15 fee for the test then they have the right to withhold the test results ? (i.e. the test was only free if you bough some glasses ?)0 -
are they within their rights to do this.
No. You are legally entitled to your prescription whether you had a Free test or paid for it.
But of course they don't want to give it to you so you can take it elsewhere or buy online, because they are counting on getting their money back for the "Free" test on the mark-up on the glasses you buy from them.0 -

All stores are participating and there's no purchase required.
It's restricted to one voucher per person, which should be presented at the time of the test. Thanks to lisalovesbargains and quoia for sharing the original offer below.

I had my eye test at Optical Express today in Cambridge, and they gave me my prescription afterwards.
The sign on the front door did say that you could get a free eye test if you purchased something (or would have to pay a £15 fee).
However, I brought in a voucher (just from their website) for the free eye test, and they had absolutely no issues about it.0 -
I need an eye test, which one out of these would you recommend? Is there any reall difference?0

Specsavers works perfectly fine and are always happy to give you the prescription. Accepted my voucher.Every little helps :beer:0
