Best foreign exchange for Euros? Off in August

I'm off to Ibiza on August 4th and then Marbella September 1st.
I've been looking at the MSE guide and i know it says theres no right time to buy and personally thye recommend caxton and others first..but I noticed theres only 1 euro difference on £1000 between caxton and travelex on a prepaid card. I just wondered with the euro rate seemingly not changing much do you think i'm worth buying my currency exchange 2 weeks before i go? Or do you think thats leaving it too late?

Everyone knows that July 2nd is the best day to buy euros!

  • New to all this, but here's my view. Been watching the Euro rate for past month or so, heading away in August to Italy so looking for best point to lock in my holiday currency.

The rate on Travelex has topped at 1.157 and bottomed out at 1.138 in the past couple of months, so on £1,000 that's a difference of 19 Euro's enough for a few more beers anyway. Like all the posts its nigh on impossible to forecast the rate so pick a realistic rate, say 1.15, and if it hits that point go for the trade. If not dive in when the mood takes you and in plenty of time for the trip.

Welcome any thoughts on how to pay a big hotel bill without incurring transfer and exchange rate costs as Travelex card can not carry enough funds for holiday and hotel?

You must be well loaded.....2 holidays in 2 months and you're worried about +/- 12 euros......as per my previous post i have more than that down my sofa...the way i do it is, if you see Merkal winking then steam in.........and dont listen to Bob The Saver as he is dislexic.
    Political?....I dont do Political....well,not much!

I'm really not loaded. I bought both holidays last year and I hardly go out drinking like most people etc..and just been saving up my money. I recently lost my job infact so i'm anything from rich..just budget my money well. And well I agree its only 12 euros, but just because you have money..never devalue it. I still believe that every penny counts :)
