Can I legally leave my 18 month contract in 1st month?

I have an 18 month contract with an Internet Service Provider.
I am still within the first month.
I am not happy with the service. There is technically nothing wrong, I just feel I made a mistake.
Is there a legal way of leaving without having to pay off the full contract, or is it completely dependent on the contract I signed with the company?

Its dependent on the contract. They might let you out early, for a fee.
As things stand, they are willing to fulfil their side of the contract. They will argue why should they let you out of your side?0 -

I was just hoping there was a 30-day cooling off period or something.
I called them, and there is not once the connection "is live"I would have to pay £200, and I'd lose the £115 that was paid in one chunk for the line rental.

Why do you want to move ?I think the surest sign that intelligent life exists elsewhere in the universe is that none of it has tried to contact us.0

I believe any cooling off period ends once connected, or certainly within 7 days of being connected.
The only truly unlimited broadband is Sky, every other company has a limit, it's just plusnet are upfront about theirs.
If you are easily doing 250gb every 20 days, then you must be downloading a lot. I see between midnight and 8am usage doesn't count against your allowance. So you could schedule large downloads between those times.0 -
Your options will be to pay to withdraw from the contract or cut down on the number of movies you download.
Why did you not check your usage before moving?0 -
Just out of interest how are you using up that much bandwidth?0
