Icici Bank Internet Banking Nightmare

Options
I would like to draw attention to issues of the online Hisave account with ICICI bank. Below is the following email I managed to send them (eventually and through a specific webpage - not the page mentioned below)

I'm very concerned and dissatisfied with the internet website and the customer service regarding this matter.
I have just spent the past 30 minutes explaining this situation over the phone to be cut off.
Firstly, there are several problems with the webpages. One of the webpages has the option to email and gives a drop down list to select what the query relates to. This page is:
https://infinity.icicibank.co.in/web/emailus/jsp/emailUs.jsp
There is nothing to select in this list so the email facility can not be submitted through this page.
I hold several bank accounts an am also surprised there is not a specific department to contact relating to technical problems regarding the website.

Secondly, I have set up a future payment to transfer to my linked account in July yet have no confirmation of my instruction for this transaction to take place anywhere on the website. It is very disconcerting not to be able to preview when a future payment will leave my account that I have set up. I have no idea if it is going to occur due to there being no confirmation this was accepted; there is no online evidence (and I also can't be told over the phone) if this instruction has been recognised. I hope you can understand my concern is an important one.
I look forward to hearing from you in due course.

Please be aware it's not the best service in the world if you apply for an account and there are other high interest accounts out there. It's really not efficient enough for me.

The key point in that link you posted is the server name - "infinity" - always seems like that where communicating with ICICI is concerned.

I only opened an account with them to diversify - I wish I hadn't bothered. The staff are very polite and helpful (by email anyway) but their systems are soooooooooooo slow! I wouldn't recommend them either, I must admit. I've decided to add no more money and if I need to withdraw savings they will come from this account first.

edit - just realised you are using an Indian server - the proper way to contact them by email (which to be fair has always worked for me) is via the account maintenance/account management query (I forget the wording) on the left once you are in your account.

You are using https://www.icicibank.co.uk aren't you?
You've never seen me, but I've been here all along - watching and learning...
  • Yes I am. Oddly, I can log on once by going through my bookmark for the site but after that the URL has to be typed into the browser. None of my other internet banking websites have this issue. It all seems very backward to me. I just opened up an account with Kaupthing Edge which is a better deal anyway.
  • Well... I guess I won't open an account there after all.
:rotfl:.....I like free coupons! What else is there... especially macys coupons!

I too have found their system a bit of a pain but it all seems to be working okay now although yesterday I could not get on to the site until the evening but other than that I have managed to transfer money with no trouble.

dont do it, there customer services are a joke. i made a complaint on 11th April and it took 2 months and countless emails and telephone calls before they offered compensation.which they did last week but now 8 days later i am still awaiting this compensation to be paid even though i have sent 2 emails requesting payment.
if anyone else is having problems i urge them to apply for compensation as this might be the only way to get them to improve their service. but be warned it could take months before you recieve anything.
i am refusing to deposit any further money into this organisation and will be closing all my account asap.
advice look elsewhere theres better deals to be had

When there are problems with ICICI Bank (UK) then that's when the problems really start.

Communications by written message take forever, whether by e-mail or from within the account's messaging facilities to the Accounts Manager.

eg, A problem of transferring into the HiSave account on 10/6/08 is still ongoing with messages. They say they have re-set the Direct Debit facility for me - and indeed it has worked twice - but not yet totally satisfactorily. Now it doesn't seem to be working properly, if at all, yet again - so more messages that take forever and are not adequately responded to. You just mostly get 'Reference numbers' advising that your communication is receiving their attention.

And don't even attempt to type stuff out within the account - you'll simply get timed out! This means you lose it ands have to Log In once again. You have to use Notepad or Word and then 'Ctrl C' and 'Ctrl V'.

I have used a HiSave account for about three years now. The site graphics are still very flakey. Half of them appear to be missing on most visits to the web site. Fortunately, I can roughly remember where the various link buttons are geographically located on the page, which is a great help when you cannot see them. This happens for me about 80% of the time.

Fingers crossed. I can say though, that all transfers OUT have worked satisfactorily 100% of the time. Once this is even the slightest problem - I'm outa there!!

Think I've been lucky, I have had money go in and out via standing orders or one off transfers and not had any problems. However I do find the website excruciatingly slooooowwww.......
To the point that most of the time my browser times out before I can get to the Login page.
I spent about 2 hours on and off today just trying to login, then found my password had been reset as part of the security measures so couldn't even get into my account. MY ACCOUNT!!!
I now have to wait 7-10days for the new password to come through!
Probably find all my money has gone and I'm left with 86,000 Ugandan Dollars (Google it)
Thats it, I'm off to Iceland, its where Mum goes afterall ;)

You're not looking in the right place. All future requests to move funds can be viewed, modified, cancelled by going to 'Manage Transfers'

You will be shown the transaction ID, the payee, the amount and the requested transfer date.

Personally, I've found their servive to be good. Never had any issues whatsoever and I move funds monthly.

Must agree, I have also found their service to be good and the transfer/payment system very simple to use/view/amend as required.
