I transferred to EBICO for gas and electricity about 3 months ago, to what seemed a good deal, and found that Southern Electric was my supplier. After the recent price increases I find that I'm paying £62 (about 10%) a year more for the EBICO tariff than if I was on a Southern Electric's lowest tariff. Nice work EBICO, have a cigar at my expense.

Yes... seems a few weeks ago EBICO were coming out well for some of us on the comparison sites but now it much less so ; in fact Npower online seems very attractive now. Can someone who knows help explain this. My guess is EBICO September price increase puts it somewhat behind some others; has Npower not increased its prices as it seems to have a biggish lead?
thanks in anticipation0 -
I get the impression that BG are the first to start a round of price increases. The others hold on until enough new customers have joined them and then they have similar or greater increases.
I have lost count of how many of the utility companies have been a 'best buy' for me in the past couple of years - although many held that position for only a couple of weeks.0 -
I have just used a comparison site and EBICO came out tops - do you think I should steer clear?[size=-2]Remember its nice to be nice and its good to share!

I would imagine your location and or usage puts them up the league table for you; what remains a mystery is why did it do that for me a few weeks ago but now puts Npower Online so high?0

im one of these who use a pre payment metre due to low income an for the likes of me I win full stop. Im now on same tarrif as if I was paying direct debt. One time companys were happy to get paid any means but now greed an board room penny pinching schemes took over. I just sacked Bt for charging me £4 for paying with ther payment card rather then direct debt, dispite im sure the transaction by ther payment card at post office been far less slaver then direct debts. All i can say is im happy at this companys ethical approch to its customeres yes we need profit for investment but laltley theirs too many share holders sticking there greedy hungry mouths out nest waiting on profit worms to glut on.
Oh I like to turn negitives into positives an this issue where my metre is programmed to charge the standing charge an ebico having to refund me with a cheque .. well the £30 cheque I recived (refunded standing charge) simply goes into paying my phone bill ..my metre is like a little piggy bank lololol ...thanks ebico my toast made on gas fire taste so much better with your service an my baths so much more soothing.0 -
I notice that this thread is well out of date going back 18 months `til today.
The only comment I`d make is that Ebico tend to fix their prices with Southern on a yearly basis, usually in Sept.
With the cost of fuel going down recently,I would imagine a price reduction by Ebico is on the cards for Sept.
Despite all the ads and shouting by BGas and Pgen about them being the cheapest and having cut prices by X amount,I wouldn`t touch either with a barge-pole and you can also add Npower to the list.
A bunch of "crooks and conman".0 -
Just been looking at setting up my fuel providers for a new house and Ebi Co were coming out top, so thought I would check their website and as of today they are closed due to being sued.
Please check with them if they are your provider.0 -
