I want to buy a chilli plant

Well as it happens you are just about the right time for planting them. Ours are all just at the seedling stage.
There are lots of sites for information.
Poblano for smoking and stuffing with cheese.
Jalapeno for pickling and putting on pizza
Lemon drop for sri lankan seafood curry
Habanero for scaring people and chemical warfare.
Get your seed from the shops.
Plant your seed now and keep warm and as light and possible.
Pot on when they're bigger.
Support the stems with a stick and/or strings when they get bigger.
There are nutters who grow them on balconies in Scandinavia, you don't need much space.
Three plants will fit in a grow bag.
The only plants you'll get in the shops will probably be decorative.0 -
Hi Simon,
I've moved your thread over to the Greenfingered board where you should get more replies.

Thanks you for that. Does anybody know if it is possible to get a entire plant rather than seeds as it is a gift for someone. Will try a local garden center on thursday but don't know if its to early in the year for one?0

You might find a decorative plant in the house plant sections (unlikely).
Its probably another few weeks for the small plants will appear in garden centres.
As an alternative try a deli for a set of gourmet chili sauces.0 -
There are a large selection of chilli seeds on ebay.0

There was quite a few multi coloured varieties in our local Wyvale last week so worth trying there if you have one locally.0

Hi
I saw some chilli plants in wilkinsons in their grow it on range. They were about 5cm tall in packs of 6 I think they were £1.99 0r £2.99 or something like that!
they also had tomatos and onions and other veg too!
I am growing my own for the first year this year! I bought a selection of seeds from ebay - ten different varieties - i'm a bit of a chilli nut!they have been a bit hard to get to sprout than other veg i have tried before but (i put the seed trays in mini greenhouses made from plastic tubs with cling film over the top) them in the airing cupboard for 3 weeks and i have quite a few little seedlings now!
will see how it goes! hoping for a good crop!
Good luck simon B!
YOU ARE STUCK WITH YOUR DEBT IF YOU CANT BUDGE IT! LOL!

Hi.
They are in most of the garden centres/nurseries at the moment.
Hope you find one you want.0 -
Hi, most larger garden centres should have them. I bought one last year and it carried on producing first rate chillis right through to December. I would seriously recommend buying one. I hardly maintained it, just the odd water now and then.0
