Hi shimsham and a warm welcome to the Forum.

You won't really get what I'd term as a proper greenhouse of that size. If you have a shed is it possible to fix one, made of a strong polythene, onto the side of it and cut a door out of the shed? We did that some years ago when we didn't have the room for one, but you need to get a good strong polythene and fix it well to the frame or the winds will tear it.

What do you intend keeping in it? That'll help us go further for you.

B n Q in Loughborough had a 6x4' in yesterday - slightly reduced but can't remember how much. I paid £163 for a 6x8 with horticultural glass - not terrible quality but better than I expected for the money. Painting it green today with some half price metal paint at £7.50.

    Hi again shimsham,

Following on from what hex2 wrote, I went on the B&Q web site and a 6' x 4' greenhouse is here http://www.diy.com/diy/jsp/bq/nav/nav.jsp?isSearch=true&fh_search=greenhouses&selected=products&x=27&y=13
    and is £357.11

I found them as cheap as £3 on Wilkinson website but they were out of stock when I looked yesterday.

  • You could make a 8 x 4ft for around £100.00 using pse timber and Clear PVCu Corrugated Sheeting.

I made one last year 8 x 8 around £180.00 but I am planning on extending it to 16ft long this year.

  • I just showed that to my misses, she suggested that I should make it bigger so that my bed will fit in it.

    I don't think she was impressed.:rotfl: :rotfl:

Sue-UU - The B n Q greenhouses are reduced at Loughborough store mine was down from £220 to £163, not in current brochure ( which has a 6 x 4 aluminium with base and polycarbonate for £189) or on website so I am guessing last years stock - the OP is based in leics which is why I was so specific in my information.

shimsham, I went back for some cement yesterday and the smallest they have at Loughborough is a 6 x 6, unless you buy a 4 x 6 green one with polycarbonate. May be worth ringing local stores though to see what they have in stock.
