60,000 two piece suits available, for £15 each, at Asda from Weds 16 Jan - Go quick!

13 January 2008
What's the deal?
Between Weds 16 and Sun 20 Jan, Asda's knocking £10 off the combined cost of a men's matching £19 jacket and £6 trousers, meaning a suit can be had for a jaw dropping £15.
Cheap & cheerful
It's a black, single breasted, back vented, three buttoned suit made from 100% polyester that's machine washable and, apparently, the design is similar to the high fashion of Milan; but at this price the latest catwalk couture really isn't all that important.

A suit in the wardrobe is a useful back up for many events and occasions (think weddings, funerals, interviews, court appearances (!) etc) so as long as the fit feels comfortable and you look good, it's a pretty handy garment to have.
How to get one
Asda's only prepared its stores with 60,000 suits so if you want one you'd better shake a leg! The offer's only on between 16 and 20 Jan, after which the price will jump back up to £25.
It's a nationwide in-store only promotion, at branches that have a George clothing department, so call your local Asda to confirm it has stock before heading out.

    Folks,

I've just contacted Asda with an enquiry about a suit and during the conversation the assistant made me aware that on Wednesday 16th January they're holding a promotion whereby they're offering men's suit jacket, in black, for £15 and if you buy one, you get the trousers for free!!

    £15 for a suit!! :j

I did ask if this was only at my local store and she said it was across all stores!!

Hope this is of use to someone.

There's a big article in 'Metro' paper today about the suit that Asda are going to sell for £15.00
The cut looks quite good, however ......100% Polyester......
If you're going to buy one - make sure you add 'anti-static' knickers to the order!
You have to admire them for getting the cost as low as they have - but at the end of the day - cheap is cheap is cheap.

It was in one of the sunday papers (NOW?) and is a machine washable 100% polyester suit.

Probably not a good idea to buy it as your wedding suit, but to last a few months as a general office suit well worth £15.

And, before a deluge of "sweatshop, exploitation" messages, ASDA are buying from reputable far east factories which they inspect.

I wouldn't be too sure about that. Reputabley made suit for £15?! That is too good to be true.

£15 suit from George at Asda
"Asda also promises it has not compromised on ethical sourcing to achieve the bargain price and that the suit is sourced in line with the Ethical Trading Initiative's code of practice."

Asda sells men's suit for £15

It seems the offer is actually running from Weds 16th to Sunday 20th January and they have 60,000 of them to shift!!

Would it be possible for a member of the admin/mod staff to alter the title of the thread to reflect that this isn't a one day special?

    fine for court.
  • Ditto. Been there done it! Bargain if you don't normally wear a suit and need one for interviews, etc. Can't imagine it lasting long with lots of wear but you can machine wash it if it's the same as the previous batch which I suspect these are.
  • A my local George (Brighton) they had a half price on half price day so got one of their £70 wool mix suit for £17.50. This was 5days ago and I've not noticed them doing it again. Maybe worth asking as I presume it is at individual shops only at managers discretion.
  • so what time will this be starting for the 24 hour stores does anyone know as we have work all day wed so i was thinking of going in the small hours of wed morning :)
