Can I laminate the stairs?

Seriously thinking of putting laminate across the landing and stairs. Has anyone done it and if so do you now regret it due to scratching etc.. or do you find it really practical?

We have a rather large step before reaching the stairs that is laminate and its basically two pieces of laminate butted up to the step and a piece of wood that fits over the top (L shaped) over the step, whilst its not bad I would hate the whole stairs like that as its often getting caught as its about 4-5 mm rising from the laminate. If thats how you laminate stairs I wouldnt bother tbh.
We didnt fit it but my whole down stairs looks like its been professional done when we bought the house in Feb0 -
my only concern would be that it might be noisy when people go up and slippy?0

There was a company offering kits, for this at the https://www.homebuildingshow.co.uk when we went, to the one at NEC.
Seemed a very limited range of finishes & even their sample display staircase made it look a bit awkward to do.
If you check who's exhibiting at the show in the South, next month, bet they'll be there too.

if the stairs are bare wood , hows about varnishing them ,
although i would have concerns about slipping if they are used by children0 -

The time when you need to be really careful though is if you are only wearing socks - then it is very slippy. I imagine laminate would be the same.MFIT No. 810 -
you really will break your neck... dont do it0

Or you could fit a trampoline at the bottom of the stairs for the fallers!0

I know floors2go http://www.floors2go.co.uk/ do provide this service as I was thinking of doing it, however they did ask if I had children I guess the main reason being it can get slippery especially if it gets wet. As some other forum users have suggested you can possibly hurt yourself
although the laminate floor will look good

My neighbours have bare floorboards or laminate on the stairs and it is like elephants running up and down stairs all day and night and drives me nuts - especially when it is quite at night. Don't do it if you have a good relationship with your neighbours and want to keep it that way!0

i would not do it. is sounds lethal to me.
and the pros dont do it either.Get some gorm.0
