Lunch In A Box -Bento

If you are struggling for ideas for packed lunches, here is a great site for meals suitable for both adults and children. They are called Bento boxes and are based on the Oriental partitioned lunch boxes. Ebay have authentic boxes on sale, but I've seen versions in my local Pound shop!

Wow, they look great :) Some lovely ideas too, although I'm jealous of anyone who has time in the mornings to carve hard-boiled eggs into fish and cars ...

The eggs are put into moulds while still hot! Haven't seen anything like it in the UK. Pics here.
And if you thought carving eggs is time-wasting, then see this vegetable page!

Hi sarahmelita, if you don't mind me asking, where did you get your bento box from, I have been looking for one, but don't want to spend a fortune on shipping from Japan! Thanks. Deb

bento boxes are one of my spending downfalls! I do the prep the night before though, can't handle early morning! I'm also very lazy and keep larger portions of things I will have a few times in the week (like chopped carrot or pasta salad or something) in a tupperware in the fridge to make things faster...I think they're good for portion control and remembering to balance meals...for me anyway :)

Hi Lambanana (great name!), where do you buy your Bento boxes from. My daughter is desparate for one for school. Thanks very much. Deb
