I've stumbled across this website while googling and whilst my initial thought was "eeewwwww, no way", it makes quite interesting reading. Certainly it is far more environmentally friendly, but according to the website it is also more healthy than tampons.
The Keeper costs £30 but lasts up to ten years!! Compare that to the monthly cost of tampons and towels etc that is a big saving.

This looks the same as a mooncup, which is considerably cheaper & has been discussed at length on these forums before & comes with a money back gurantee (I can recommend it!)

Yes, exactly the same and yes, a lot cheaper at £17.99.
I did do a search before posting but nothing came up. Just tried searching on mooncup and still nothing.
Can anyone give a link to the previous discussion as I would be interested to read what people think. I had never heard of this.0 -
Sorry, I'm technically !!!!!! & don't know how to post links to threads but I just did a search on Mooncup & 3 other threads about them came up if this helps?
Can anyone enlighten in simple baby language on how to post links to threads? And also how to get smilies into text, I have only been able to get them into the title since the forum upgrade!?Post Natal Depression is the worst part of giving birth:p

and some i made myself

and i really wouldn't use anything else now
i find that along with the cost factor i like the fact that i am always prepared for anythingand another good side effect is that i seem to have less cramping and pain using these

LOL not as !!!!!! as me as I couldn't even get the search function to work for me! Have now found the following discussion:
http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=38878&highlight=mooncup
There was another discussion referred to in one of the threads that come up but the link given is on the old forum and comes up with an error when you click on it.
Sounds very interesting.
By the way, I just copy the address of the page I'm linking to and paste into my response, probably not the correct way but seems to work.
Re smilies go into your usercp and then select edit options. Right at the bottom is miscellaneous options and select enhanced interface. Save changes. I think that should bring up various formatting features when you reply to threads, one of the icons being smilies.

copy and pasting an address does work automatically and if you want to do a link like THIS then just highlight the word you want to use, click on the 'insert link' icon above and paste the address into the boxI am a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Wales, Small Biz MoneySaving, In My Home (includes DIY) MoneySaving, and Old style MoneySaving boards. Just wanted to say that I've finally received my washable sanitary pads from snazzypants, they took a long time to arrive but they look really good quality & are super-soft. They seem quite comfy too, not too bulky or moving about like I expected them to be, although I can't give them a proper test dirve at the mo (pregnant). The best news is now I can see them I am sure they would be really easy to make out of face flannels or towels......if only I had a sewing machine! Must add to car boot sale wish list!Post Natal Depression is the worst part of giving birth:p

There is a very small difference between the Mooncup and The Keeper. I think they're made out of different materials.Murphy's No More Pies Club #209

think the keeper is rubber and the mooncup is silicone - so the keeper is unsuitable for people with certain allergies......:rotfl:five children? I must be mad........ :rotfl:
