I think it has been interesting to find out how different people have fared when applying for the 18-month Capital One Card. Since lots of people have posted here how they have got on, either
or
, I thought that collating some statistics would be interesting. We might then be able to find out things like: What percentage of us have been accepted? above 50%? Does the Internet message “We will write to you in 14 days” usually mean that you will or will not be accepted? How many people get offered the 6-month card instead of the advertised 18-month one? Do a higher proportion of people get accepted by post or Internet? Etc.
EDIT
22/04/05 11:15 - Collated results are now on page 3
(its page 3 on my screen anyway)
11/04/05 12:50 - 74 people have applied, 41 people/55% accepted for the full 18 months, 7 people/9% rejected completly, 23 people/31% offered 6 months, 3 people/4% other.
08/04/05 17:45 - 47 people have applied, 26 people or 55% accepted for the full 18 months, 10% rejected completely, therefore about 35% being offered 6 months.

Last time I got the "14 day” message, but then I was offered the 6-month card by post. This time I got the “14 day” message, and I was accepted for the 18-month card
. The only things that were different was a nice increase in wage and one Stooze card cleared.

I have been accepted for one, i do not know if it is a 6/12 months yet. but would you remember how long it took for the card to arrive?0 -
I got the initial reply in much less than 14 days; I would say about 5. I haven't yet got my card, but I've only been waiting 4 days so far and they say to wait 7-10.0

Received a letter yesterday informing me that the 18 month postal offer had expired and I should ring them up to see what other offers are available. Rang them and got accepted for a 9 month 0% BT (the maximum they are currently offering they said), don't know the credit limit yet but they said that they try to match the card specified. In my this case this was my Egg green card.
P.S. There was a ref on my letter, C4, that I forgot to mention to them, maybe I might have got a better offer if I had mentioned it. Anyone else had this letter ?and short arms!0 -
Hi
I never got accepted.
Today though I got a letter from Vanquis Card offering me the following-:
A Whopping £250 credit limit
Annual Fee of £19
Typical APR of - 59.0% !!!!!!!!!!!!!
Now I know my credit isnt that bad to be offered such a shambolic card.
I have Egg/MBNA/Halifax Cards all running nicely.
Id like to think this is unrelated to my Cap One application but it just seems a bit funny to be declined from them and then to recieve this garbage. I think they may be passing on referrals to Vanquis for a small fee!
Anyone else had this dross ?

Wondering what credit limits you guys are getting during this period. Seems like their sending out mailshots in my neighbourhood, and not too smart at that too since I'm already with them.I know nothing0

I've updated the results. Thank you to the 74 people who have voted already. Potentially interesting results; the 55% may be significant, who knows.
Also, lopo has done a related poll that you may wish to help with: http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=432050
