There are 8 of us (2 adults & 6 kids - some foster kids - 3,5,5,6,10 & 11), I guess I spend about £200 every 10 days or so - I get a local veg box delivered every week, buy UK produced organic or free range meat & poultry (and game when in season) - always cook from scratch.

I tend to buy in bulk when things are on offer.

I NEVER buy ready made stuff and ALWAYS cook from scratch (Just made Hot Cross Buns) and compost / wormery waste that can't be re-cooked.

I do have one vegie in the house (11) so will also be providing a veg option where needed.

Our Main meals for the coming week are...

Today - Steak (Birthday Pressie) with a Rocket and Baby Leaf Salad, Charlotte Pots

Sunday - Roast Leg of Lamb, Roast Pots, Pan fried Carrots, Kale, Snips etc

    Monday - H/M Pasta & H/M Mascapone & Tom Sauce

Tuesday - Pasties (Left over Lamb) & Salad

    Wednesday - H/M Chicken Pie (2 Breasts for 8 people) & Veg

    Thursday - H/M Spag Bol & Salad

    Friday - H/M Pizza & Salad

    Sat - All day breakfast

Any suggestions on how I can cut back?

My meal plan for this week is

Sunday Eating out as it's Mothers Day
    Monday Lasagne & Salad
Tuesday Sausage & mash, carrots & onion gravy
Wednesday Lamb Chops, new pots & carrots
Thursday Liver Bacon & onion, mash & carrots
    Friday Nothing planned as yet.

All the above are subject to change if I find anything interesting in the reduced sectionat Tesco's I walk past every day & they often have some really good bargins at 7 in the morning.

I bought Carrots & Parsnips today 25p for 2 bags of carrots & 1 of parsnips, hence carrots will be served every night this week, I'm going to make curried parsnip soup, which will do for me & the lodger for lunches next week.
