Because of your suggestions of meal planning, buying things on BOGOF offers, batch freezing and home cooking, it's now all entirely the fault of you OS guys and gals that ...
My freezer is full!!!
I can't fit anything in - not even the extra portion of veg curry in the fridge that should go in the freezer!
It's all your fault
What do I do now??? We live in a flat so have no room for a bigger freezer
:rotfl: Thanks guys :T Feels good knowing that I have almost a month's worth of food already in. :T

WHY WHY WHY is it impossible to get a fridge-freezer where the fridge is small to average and the freezer is large? There is loads of choice when it comes to Large fridge+Small freezer, or Large fridge+Medium freezer. So why, if I want a big freezer (am also in a flat so just the one space available) would I have to buy one that practically hits the ceiling, and has a huuuuuge fridge I would only need half of??
My (90L) freezer is not big enough for my requirements but my (similarly sized) fridge is already a bit big for a single-person household, and my FF isn't one of the very tallest ones.
I like Elona's suggestion thoughOperation Get in Shape

We have 3 drawers for our freezer and one is only a half depth drawer, the other is a half height drawer so not a huge amount. It's nearly equal fridge size to freezer if you look at the door though.
I like the idea of just eating more - but OH has already said my baking cakes is making him put on weight!!
It did just occur to me though, that perhaps I should decrease the budget and then maybe there'll be less to go in the freezer!! When OH was broke (and before I took over the shopping) there was mixed veg and ice packs in the freezer and milk, cheese, ham and jam in the fridge!! Should help us lose some weight too then!!working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -
I gave up on having bread with my soup at lunchtime today cos it seemed too much of a faff to dig through the freezer for it.
Would have been very slimming except instead I had a big slice of cake (HM of course!)
When I got that fridge I thought I'd never ever manage to fill a freezer that size:D0 -
Yeah for the first few months of marriage I thought why do we have such a big freezer - we don't eat that much ice cream and frozen veg!!! :rotfl:working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0

:rotfl: :rotfl: I am sooo with you on this - I have been "emptying" my freezer since before christmas - problem is I keep emptying it of things that then go on to make 6 meals (like a pack of mince = a chilli or a gammon ham = pea and ham soup) so actually am just refilling every time.
In the old days I would drag out a stab stab ping and thats it the freezer would be emptier:o
I blame OS entirely:D0 -

Same here, just been looking at my meal plan to see if I can shuffle it to make room but everything will just make a meal to eat and something for the freezer anyway - like the turkey pieces will make two lots of curry so a similar amount will go back into the freezer, the beef mince will make two s/pies so one will go into the freezer and take up more room than before!!!
Honestly, the problems it causes trying to be OS!working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -
I've had a good giggle at this thread. :rotfl:

Same here - I just keep refilling it. It is forever full of individual portions of soup, to the point that I can't get any more in! In an ideal world I would make about 4 batches of soup one week, and none the next week (as I shop at a vegetable market which I would prefer only to have to visit once a fortnight) but I only ever have the space to freeze 2 batches
