(Martin has provided permission for this to be posted...)

Hi All. I'd like to introduce a new site dedicated to providing transparent, easy to understand mobile phone contract information.

It uses a specialised data aggregator that collates tariff details from many of the major mobile phone retailers.

Why is it good?

The site aims to provide a web interface that enables you to find the contract that best suits your needs, and your pocket. We're not biased by those retailers that provide specialist data feeds, or provide the most commision.

Why have you posted this?

The idea is to give you the chance to give the website a go, and let us know how you get on. This will enable us to shape the website for the future.

Thanks

The site is only in a trial stage at present, and will be taken down in the next day or so - this is your only chance for a while to give it a go.

I'd like to thank in advance those who give the site a go, and, if possible, leave some feedback - positive or negative :)

Just to say I've given specific permission for this feedback thread. This is a new mobile checker being developed by MSE checkerman (who is behind the flightchecker and others) and while its his pet project, I want to see how it compares to the main comparison services and how people find it - as if its useful it may play a part on MSE.

  • Hi MSE Checkerman & Martin,

I have to say that it looks good - it certainly gets my seal of approval. If either of you need any info/advice to help this along, please feel free to drop me a line.

  • I think this is a very good well presented comparison tool.

Personally, I would also like to see the contracts effective cost per month (overall monthly cost – Overall cost divided by months of contract) to see which is best value for money. I feel when you sort results by Overall cost results are misleading because 12 months are always going to be better value than 18 months.

I would also like to see amount of cashback claims required to establish how much bother this is going to cause me.

Picky also, but I searched for a Nokia N73 Headset and results came up with clearance phones although I did not select Nokia N73 Clearance which is available from dropdown.

All in all the best phone comparison tool I have used so far!!!!!!!

Looks good - I always use Reestit's site though, but as he has given it his seal of approval then that's ok with me

Getting clearance phone results when you specifically select non-clearance phones is a BIG disadvantage IMO

For example, i searched for samsung e900 and the first 4 results were clearance ones from e2save!

In fact, there were only 2 non-clearance ones out of 10 deals on the first page

    All,

Thanks for the comments so far - they've been very constructive.

The point made regarding the clearance phones is important, and one we'll be looking at in detail soon.

This tool is still only in it's very early stages, so any feedback to enable this to improve is always welcome!

  • I've been searching for a few days on oncecompare, moneysupermarket and directly on sites, but thanks to the easy use of this tool I've had the confidence to order an LG p7200 @ carphone warehouse.

:money: Great new tool, cheers MSE :money:

Really great tool for those that want a quick comparison. :j :T

I'm already with Vodafone and have managed to secure a really great deal from them, when I enter it on your tool though it works out to be more expensive. Maybe it should be made clearer that the comparisons are not based on retention deals and they could possibly used as a reference point for wrangling a better deal out of their exsisting provider.
