I was in Sainsburys today and saw socks with 90% off so i bought some. When i paid for them they gave me another 25% off the price so they really gave me 15% to take them out the shop

You sure?
If they were £1 to start with, then 90% off is 10p. Deduct 25% from the 10p and they would have gone through for 7.5p.
Otherwise if you just bought socks, Sainsburys would be taking money out of the till to give to you0 -

Sainsbury's Edinburgh also have there tights, stockings etc with 25% off and an additional 90% off as well. So they paid me , wish I had had time to go back and get more but was in a mad rush.0

But that is incorrect because often ALL the discounts are based on the original full price.
So £1 less 90% is 10p
Deduct 25% of £1 - ie a further 25p
10 - 25p = MINUS 15 pence
So you are given 15p for each pair you buy.
I've not bought nor even seen these particular socks but I've had offers like this from Sainsbury's (and ASDA) before !There are 10 types of people in the world. ‹(•¿•)›(11)A104.28S94.98O112.46N86.73D101.02(12)J130.63F126.76M134.38A200.98M156.30J95.56J102.85A175.93

If you must be critical, I doubt that your English teacher would have been proud of you if you insist on putting apostrophes into plurals!0 -
It is right they are paying us to take the socks, although it is best if you have other shopping so the dont cotton on!!!0

Just checked my receipt , I had bought tights marked £5.96, savings were £1.49 then £5.37, girl behind the counter was totally confused but did not question it.0
