HI all, we started doing a menu a few weeks ago and even though we had already improved on our spending, it was amazing how much more we saved just by getting exactly what we needed. It also meant less waste. We have also cut down the amount of meat we have, trying to keep it to Sunday roast.

So here's our menu for the week:

Saturday: Brown rice and vegetable gratin
Sunday: Roast Chicken, potatoes and veg
Monday: Homemade salmon fishcakes and veg
Tuesday: Carrot and Ginger soup and bread
Wednesday: Corned beef and potato pie and baked beans
    Thursday: Tuna Pasta Bake

It makes us look forward to the week and also motivates us to cook

    Right here goes.

As this is the last week of my month funds are very low but I have most things in that I will need other than milk, eggs, veg and fruit.

Saturday - Tata Ash with Dumplings (in slow cooker as I am at work)*
HM Chicken Nuggets, EF Rice and Curry Sauce (for DH & DD's)
    * In-laws (x4) over so me and them will have this
    HM Lemon Cheesecake

Sunday - BBQ Chicken (thighs & Drumsticks in freezer), Stir-fry veg &
    Noodles

Monday - Roast Chicken, Roasties, Veg, Yorkshires & Gravy

Tuesday - Chicken & Leek Pie, Pots, Veg & Gravy

Wednesday- Curry & Rice (us)/ Spag bol with hidden veg (DDs) HM Garlic
    Bread

Thursday - Scrambled egg, sausages & Toast

Friday - HM Steak Pudding, HM Chips, Peas & Gravy

Lunches - Soup from rubber chicken, Sandwiches (cheese, HM Ham sliced in freezer), crackers. Carrot & Cucumber sticks, crisps, fruit.

Also - HM fruit cake and biscuits, Jelly and Yoghurt for puddings.

Then my new month begins so this weeks task is to make up menu plan and shopping list for next month.

The spag bol, steak mince for pudding, HM Nuggets, chicken for roast (+ 2 other meals) and sausages are in the freezer. I make my own bread so usually a small loaf a day.
