  • Hi,

The Basildon branch has up to 70% today, but only 10% on TV's etc
  • No mention of 70% off on their website.

Looks like they've gone into administration. They have suspended all online ordering too.

  • Does any one know which day this isoccuring on ?

  • If you search for Allders www.timesonline.co.uk , you'll find a good bit of info there too.

It's in the administrators' interests to ensure that any existing stock is sold at the best price they can get for it (even if that's only 1p) & we all love a bargain ;) , but please remember that any warranty you get may be worth nothing in the long term. If you buy goods from a company you already know to be in administration or has been publicised as being in administration & then hit a problem, you may well be technically entitled to a refund or replacement but may actually get nothing because of there not being a company to provide it. Even if/when another company takes over the chain, they may not necessarily take over any warranties etc issued by them.

I'd advise anyone to steer clear of buying any electrical goods or other expensive items from companies in administration unless the warranty doesn't matter to you and/or you can afford to lose the money you've paid. Caveat emptor. :)
  • Is this only today?

Allders original prices was well inflated, can truly understand just why they have gone in to administration.

Today I popped into one of the 10 that are definately closing down and frankly, for a shop that is festooned with huge "store closing down" and "everything must go" signs, there was very, very little to get excited about.

I tried hard to find some real "must go" bargains but came away completely empty handed

If everything has to go, they'll need to do better than that!
  • It appears that its a constant thing - I went to the local store today - the only items that had 70% off where sofas and bed linen..

Unfortunately the denon stereo I wanted only had about 15% off...... DOH!
  • I went to the Romford branch today and asked about plasma's and LCD's and they said that the prices wouldnt go down anymore because they would ship all outstanding stock to the stores which were staying open. Not fair!

went to the reading store and as usual with this crappy shop there wasnt much of a sale....couldnt see anything that was 70%........even stuff that was half price (IF you could find it!!) could be bought cheaper online.......

most stuff was 10% off only.

one member of staff was writing out more price tickets...noticed one which was an office cupboard.....for £20....quite frankly the item looked like it should have been taken to the nearest skip....wasnt worth 20p, let alone £20.....shop is a joke and wont be missed...

yep they must have used the Courts and DFS school of pricing...these dinosaurs think customers are dim...unfortunately some are...but people are getting wiser.
