Tissue in washing

Options
I put hubbys work clothes in the washing machine yesterday (forgot to check last pocket - which had half a roll of toilet papaer in it)
Now all work clothes are covered in paper/pulp and hes not a happy bunny.
What can i do to get the paper off? All the uniform is covered and he dont have any spare.
Even the old selotape trick is gonna take hours .
Any ideas?

TIA

What i do ( happens very frequently in our house!) is to hang up the wet washing outside, in the windiest spot. A lot then blows away as the washing dries.
Then, to get the last remanats..a firm attack with the clothes brush (whilst still hanging outside), seems to get the worst of it off, ususally.

I find that some tissues are worse than others tho...Tesco Value comes off a treat tho..so hope you've been MSE-ing!!..rather than the ultra flash Kleenex!

Was hoping the wind would help, but for some reason, its supossed to be hot today with no wind!!!!!
Left it all on the line last night with the hope of a storm like the other night - no luck lol.
    OMG, its gonna take hours.

I know this is a crazy suggestion, do you think that if i was to stick the worst offenders in the freezer ( navy trousers/green t-shirt) in the freezer then brush it off afterwards it might work. (Like we do for chewing gum?)

  • Can you put it back it for a rinse cycle, this may wash most of it away?

Not exactly moneysaving, but I find a tumble dryer will take most if not all of the tissue off. You'll find it in the lint filter!

Theres a couple of sure fire solutions to this one though which I find work a treat...
    1. Tell him to empty his blurdy pockets before he puts his clothes in the wash basket/on the floor/in your hands (Delete as applicable)
    2. Let him do the washing himself!!

Good luck, I hate tissues in the wash!

  • Clothes brush with lint. why won't selloapte work. lie the uniform on the floor- get a sellotape dispenser with sellotape and pull a long strip the size of the length of uniform- shouldn't take too long. what about using a hairdryer, fan or the hoover to pick up bits if no wind- use the hoover pipe where you put the attachments on.

if you freeze clothes they can break and you would have to defrost them e.g. my mum pegged a jumper on line- it froze over night in the winter- she took it over line and the sleeve broke in the process. stick with sellotape- very time consuming but never fails to work. can people help you with it?

i use sellotape too but i use the ironing board to lay clothes flat on while doing it
  • He's a grown man and should empty his OWN pockets, it's not your fault he stashed half an Andrex puppy in his pocket :D

Nothing for it but set a clothes brush to it, or attack with sellotape as the others have suggested. You could always ask your OH to help you?
Tissues always appear in the dark wash even if you have checked all the pokets, it's called sods law:rolleyes:
