Siemens A60 but locked to virgin - easily unlocked after you use the £15 credit they give you.
Apologies for that, only done a quick check on the net and the first site i came to said it was very easy to unlock the A60, below is what you have to go through to unlock it.
Siemens A60 unlock by software & cable
You must first cut a main board track to allow boot-up.
Remove the phone front by pressing tabs outwards and easing the lower end off first.
Remove the 6x T5 screws and carefully prise the screen/keypad away.
Remove the larger metal screening lid.
The track is in the 2nd pcb layer. Put a strong light behind and use a magnifying glass.
Note the other track close to the right of the one to cut.
Make your cut at the arrow point (picture).
Easier to cut if the varnish is scraped away with a screwdriver first. Use a sharp knife
and press & rock the blade point. Don't try to run the blade across the track, you'll slip!!
Reassemble the phone.

Is it? looking on the web shovs "been to guy in local market - seems that it need a track cutting on the pcb before the software can be used to unlock it."
If you put another £15 onto it they will unlock it for free under the 30 quid rule though.0 -

This could get even cheaper. I rang them last night to do a virgin "Glue" on this phone. For those that don't know, virgin will pay you ten pounds airtime to your virgin account if you recommend someone who registers a phone.
They are not supposed to do this in conjunction with other offers but it seems late shift part time staff don't know it.
Effectivley you pay £26.99 for the phone, comes with £25 airtime and your existing Virgin phone gets a £10 on it too. Thus you are £8 in pocket and a new Siemens A60 colour phone.
There are also other phones with similar but more expensive offers.0 -

I have an old virgin sim. Do you think they'd put the extra £10 on that?
And how do you exactly get them to put the £10 on it/ Can you explain this a little futher. Thank you.0 -
You can read all about "glue" here
http://www.virginmobile.com/cgi-bin/ntadtrack.cgi?/mobile/promotions/glue/
Make sure you take a screen grab of this offer as it changes depending on how you access the site...... £30 with £15 airtime if you go direct or £27 with £25 airtime if you go via link.

This is the best method of unlocking this phone. I've only ever done one, and Its a pig to do as the track you cut is very difficult to see (the pcb is green, the track is green also!). Too deep a cut, the phone is ruined, hand slips the phone is ruined (its a tiny track), too shallow and the phone remains unlocked. Scalpel and a T6 are needed.
Paying an extra £15 to virgin is preferable to paying £15 or whatever to a guy in a market who probably doesn't want to do it anyways.0 -

When your friends buy a phone from Virgin, ask them to give your phone number and name and that's it. You will get 10 pound added to your Virgin SIM in 40 days time.
I have got this twice last year.0
