On a slightly less involved note, I have been debating getting one of Wilkinsons cheap £13 small "square" water butts and cutting holes in the side of that for strawberries. I'm working on the principle that something that size should be able to provide enough water and nutrients unlike some of the pointless little strawberry pots around.

Just ordered some along with some other seeds.

Strawbs are showing as "sent out within 28 days" but the other seeds are "in stock".

Does anyone know if they will hold the whole order back or will they send them separately?

Interestingly, I see that Fothergill is adding the free postage code automatically this weekend. I've hit them for a dozen strawberries as well, but also added (another!) blueberry and some (more!) scented pinks, so they shouldn't do too badly out of the deal.

In case anyone is wondering about Fothergill's quality, I had a sudden rush of blood to the brain late last summer and ordered some vegetable plug plants for overwintering (I'd left it too late to sow seed) and though they looked a bit dessicated when they arrive, his week we harvested the last of their excellent cabbages and have just the one (also really good) curly left kale to go before I clear that bed for this year's beasties.
