hot weather help needed!

ok, this one is a bit embarrasing, but hey, i figure, we're all friends here! now that the weather is pretty hot and clammy, I have a terrible problem with perspiration. Ive tried all the usual deoderants, like sure, but none of them seem to work! has anyone got any ideas for stuff i can try, or am i consigned to black clothes for the rest of july? thanks.....

hi i am usually a lurker but this really struck a chord as i suffer the same its embarrassing i know, i got to the point where i went to the doctors. she prescribed me DRICLOR but i think you can buy it over the counter but dont quote me on that. you put underarms at night wash off in the morning and personally i have got to the point of using it once a week its fab i think you can also use it on hands and feet i would check with chemist if it is over the counter/prescription dont forget to check out cost too

p.s if you shave your armpits leave 24hrs before applying!! it stings like nothing else!!

thats the thing you see... I tried the driclor stuff, but no matter how much i tried, how little i shaved my pits, it burnt like holy moly! I always wear cotton clothes, and have tried mitchum, but, like i said, nothing works! Apparently you can get botox in your armpits, but i cant see me being able to afford that on my some what pathetic income!

i did wonder the 1st night i put it on if id put acid under there instead!!
but after a few times it feels fine like i said now once a week is fine for me also i did learn not to roll it on too hard dont know why that made a difference. i did get as far as an appointment with the plastic surgeon (wondered if he would do a tummy tuck while there) he said 2 options botox on nhs (pigs might fly) or an op to remove sweat glands from underarm altogether
maybe try docs? sorry i couldnt be of any help, driclor was a god send for me

Im the same with the driclor...so burny figured it was better to sweat!
I tend to wear black tops..easier than worrying constantly about the sweat marks!..though i do sometimes pop a cotton vest top under the black top to let people know that I also wear colours lol!!
I have being using the Dove stick, black dress one and its been pretty good!

I swear by Driclor its marvellous stuff. It can irritate so I would recommend not using it the day you have shaved as it will be sore. Use it the day after when your skin has recovered and calmed down a bit, it still may slighltly irritate but not so much. When I first used it I applied it for 2-3 nights then found the effects last for days. Now I just reapply every 3-4 days. Use normal deoderant daily otherwise.

    No sweat! :j

like i said, driclor worked, dont get me wrong, but it really did leave me in agony. ive got quite sensitive skin, so i dont suppose that helped... id end up scratching my arm pits until they bled...

personally i think the initial instructions for using it everyday was too much for my delicate pits usually using anything other than dove leaves me needing piriton and hydrocortisone cream for a week. i do rub it on really quite gently and just on the underarm (ok the usually hairy bit)as if i get it on any surrounding skin it does sting
i used to itch like mad too i cant promise obviously but with me it did stop irritating but needed a good couple of months to get used to it and find out things like how long to leave after shaving(was 48hrs now manage 24hrs) how often a week needed etc etc maybe consider a final try ???

I use driclor(prescribed from gp) as it is the only thing I have found to work for me. It does irritate my skin (really sore, itchy etc) but I prefer that to sweating. What I do is wait until I'm really tired before I go to bed, apply it then try and put it out of my mind until I eventually nod off. Then wash it off first thing in the morning.
Also I have tried exercising and healthier eating and this seems to be helping the perspiration.
The only other thing I have heard of is injecting botox into your armpits  But I don't know much about that, try asking your doctor again.
