littlewoods charges

hey everybody this is my first post so please be gentle, i managed to get behind on my littlewoods catalogue and have been regularly charged £12 for late payments and insufficent payments, i gathered a list of the charges and some from a year ago and sent off the template letter, they replyed about 3-4 weeks later basicly saying no i cant reclaim it because they say the charges are fair and stated on the back of the bill, so what do i do next? any thoughts on what to do will be greatly received.

Hiya

use the second letter in the template (sorry not sure how to link it) but its the one that says you haven't had a satisfactory response. It's the one for threatening court action.
If no response,then take it to FOS using the templates. There is no charge for this, and sometimes it prompts the payout. I think most financial institutions try to fob you off first of all.

By the way, make sure you go back 6 years with your charges, you can claim that amount back but they charge £10 for a full list of charges if you don't have statements

thanks longhauladdict, so can i still claim even though they have charged me £12? just i thought it was for anything over 12? im not very bright when it comes to this kinda stuff. luckily in there responce they attached a list of the charges and there reasons for each charge

I went to CAB to try to get some help as I could not pay my debt which was under £100 I agreed at the time to pay £10 a month but since the cold weather all my money has been going on heating and I have not been able to pay. I have been charged a fortune by these people and have had hundreds of phone calls, sometimes they hang up after I answer? When I do speak to them I explain my position they are quite abrupt and then phone again the same evening and early next morning. I feel I am being harrased by them.

My debt is now up to £172 most of which is charges of £12 a month and another £10 for debt collectors letters as they say they cannot contact me?

Is there anything I can do? Any help very much appreciated

.....i'm fighting with littlewoods at the moment and called them today following a letter with yet another charge of £12. The letter states usual stuff ..saying over due account, (im not overdue!!) tried to call several times, which is rubbish....i did have one call but when i answered they hung up!!
some months ive been charged in excess of £30 for letters and calls>>>and i never get any....

Ive sent letters with no response so my complaint is going to the fos, as i cant deal with littlewoods rude staff!

type2tattoo...im sure they are only allowed to call once a day, you can complain for harrasment, which i would do!!! .....give them a something to deal with, getyour moneys worth!!

Out of all of my debts (which don't add up to much in the grand scheme of things) Littlewoods have caused me sooo much stress and harrasment. I phoned and asked if they would accept a full cash payment ...was going to borrow elsewhere to get them off my back, even a loan shark would be cheaper than all these charges. They offered my £12 off?? and were very very rude at that!

Oh well another £22 charges this month, I don't know how they get away with it

well keep fighting them, and take your complaint to the FOS, i havent heard of many cases won without their help from littlewoods or additions. I'll keep you posted if i get any good news....

I too have had many charges/late fees etc and also PPI in connection with Littlewoods. My outstanding balance is £629, over £300 of this is PPI, which I am in process of reclaiming, they told me to go away as they won'y pay, but sent my letter to FOS, so sure they will have to pay up soon. Awaiting late payment charges, but know this will also be in the £100's SO hopefully my £629 balance will be wiped out due to MSE .

A great help in this current economic struggle

Just wondering what response you've had RE charges? have you sent that to the FOS also?? My charges would clear my balance so im hoping i can get them back too!

Sorry to be thick but what is PPI and FOS? they have charged me another £24 this month and would like to know where to start in disputing these charges. I am still constantly harrassed by their very rude call team, thats when they actually speak to me 90% of the calls I get from them are just dead calls and I get 6 a day?

They tell me I can order from them again when its cleared :O I will NEVER use their company again after the way they have treated me
