I had booked a flight with flyglobespan for next March. I paid by Visa Electron. I have phoned their helpline they say I am not protected, they say that it is an industrial action (not a strike but nevertheless an industrial action). I have contacted ATOL they say that because I booked directly with the airline I am not protected.
Can anyone advise.0 -
Insurance which covers airline failure sounds like your only hope, but a lot of insurance doesn't cover this.0
-
Only booked at the weekend, not yet arranged insurance.0

I don't think insurance would cover that, you usually need to have taken it out before any sort of strike, action, whatever, is announced. So getting it today would be too late.0

They seem to be confused with BA and the possible strike.
Go back and say Globespan NOT BA, and quote the news reports if they still do not understand.0 -
You should apply to your bank for a VISA chargeback.0

It said on the news that if you booked a package through an agent you will be refunded. If you booked flight only yourself and not using credit card, then your only hope is pre-existing insurance which may or not cover it.Can anyone advise me. ps They are in administration - that's not the same as industrial action, surely.0 -
I have just phoned my bank, they say that they have not yet received instructions regarding flyglobespan.0
