Brother HL-2040 Laser Printer. £34.50 inc delivery.

Factory refurbished from Brother. Although the web site is Marketworks.com.

Link here Brother HL-2040

I'm in the market for a cheap Laser and this seems a good buy. It's still about £100 elsewhere, although of course, that's new, not refurbished.

Don't know if it's better than the Samsung or not. However, DIY Toner refills are available here for a tenner.

I have a Epson R200 printer. Thinking of upgrading. Would this be a good one, or any suggestions?

I have both the Samsung 1510 and the Brother 2030 (identical to 2040 except not networkable?) and would recommend the Brother.

Having said that, the ML-1510 is still a good buy at £34.99!!

Marketworks has been a favourite front-end for many ebay sellers and Brother is not different, using Marketworks to sell all refurbished equipments. It is cheaper to use Marketworks rather than hosting their own webshop.

I use the HL2030 and the 2040 is next in line. Great printer, thoroughly recomment it. Refill cartridge £10.00 ish, don't buy new. Works great and saves about £30.00 , refill lasts about a year and you can refill up to 4 times. By then the printer is kna*****d and you will have to replace anyway.

Do you mean the entire printer is knackerd? Or just the cartridge? Thanks....

PS....Do you recon these refurb units come with a toner cartridge in them?

Intriguingly, if you do a "completed item" search for one of these on eBay, they all go for several pounds more than the £27 + carriage that's being sought on the direct sales website. The market can't be wrong?
