Is any going to the portrush airshow next weekend? Is it any good? were thinking of going but have a 2 year old so not sure how he will cope with it.
Also hear that the A380 Will be making an appearance at it and also an approach to belfast city airport.

Based on experience, I wouldn't recommend it. I remember taking a 2 y o to Newtownards Airshow many years ago - terrified by the roar of jets at close quarter. Too young to appreciate IMHO. With our current weather, the chances of it actually happening are poor!0

We were at the airshow last year and had a fabulous day, red arrows were the highlight. Our kids are much older, 11 and 16 but they really enjoyed it.. I would definately recommend it for a day out. Lots to see and do0

To be honest its mainly me who wants to go, our son will be coming along as we cant get anyone to mind him. Im sure he would find a park more interesting than the planes LOL0

There were small shows and entertainers for little ones, he won't be bored. Apart from the roar of the red arrows the other aircraft are pretty tame as not over head but over the sea..
Hard to know with the weather, last year there was awful weather the night before, so bad we were going to cancel caravan booking which we have never done before, but in the end we endured the awful drive up. The next morning we had the most lovely blue skies, and the show went ahead, not a drop of rain all day.. Only a few planes were cancelled and that was only due to bad weather in England where they were leaving from..0 -
Took our 2 and 4 yr olds last yr and they had a great time, plenty of bouncy castles etc plus the planes.
Just make sure to bring cash with you , I ended up walking the length of Portrush last year as no cash machines were working0 -
how busy will it get, I was at the tall ships when they sailed out last week and the place (Newtownabbey) was gridlocked. Dont want to go up and have to park miles away with him. also its been about 10 years since i have been at portrush. where would be the best place to view from.0

We parked at East strand about 10am, walked round to West strand, found a wall to sit on and one of us sat and kept seats while the rest walked round. Not as busy as the tall ships and plenty of parking just not at West strand.. All the action is in the air so crowds move around, West strand is where all the action is, the stalls and entertainment but you will see it just as well from Romore head if you want to stay out of the crowds. We brought a picnic as did a lot of people, there was room to sit on the grass with chairs etc.. A full fun day out, bring plenty to eat and drink but there was some food on sale. Toilets were mainly the blue port-a-toilet things so bring baby wipes and toilet roll as that runs out first thing..0
