This is for new money only so if you have an existing Egg account, transfer it out to a non-Egg account then put it back in again.

Oooooh!
I was starting to look at instant access accounts yesterday as my fixed at 6.3% comes to an end in October, and thought I would just see whats on offer. Think I will go for this as I am very happy with Egg, and 3.25% is the best at the moment. Also, a FIXED bonus, nice!
In fact, it's very similar to the owners account (http://www.citibank.co.uk/personal/banking/saveinvest/saving/fsaver/fsaver.htm?merchant=citi) so glad to see they are keeping it the same across the board.
Edit: Applied, opened and initial deposit receivedLovely and fast, I do like egg. Now I hope they open the current account they were conducting research for a few months ago.
Edit 2: And just registered it for Gross interest. No need for R85 forms with EggChuffed!

Hi,
How do I go about getting this rate exactly? Do you have to close the account?
I already have a savings a/c with them (think it is 2.5%)
thanks0 -

I have egg savings, money and card with them. You can open this account at 3.25% if you have any or all of these, they just expect you to fund it with 'new' money like you say in the original post.0 -

Open the account as an existing customer. Transfer your savings out to another account (e.g. a current account you have with another bank). Then transfer it back to egg into your new account... simples0 -
Hmmm, I just opened a new (2.80%) account with Egg about 6 weeks ago, though haven't got around to funding it yet. I guess this means I've got to close that and open a new one.....?Mine is up and running and showing the correct rate already.
ThanksStompa0 -
