ALL of the sheds are expensive for their installation services, due to the fact they a) take a cut of the installation charge and b) put a margin on the installation in the first place. You're better off getting a local fitter to install the kitchen for you...

I think "TRUST NO ONE" is a bit harsh, maybe you should change it to "DON'T TRUST THE SHEDS"

Why are you shocked? You were told the total price was £5200, including installation. Surely you realised that labour is an expensive commodity - 'It's not your parts, it's your labour', as the saying goes.
"You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"
  • I have worked within the kitchen industry since I left school, some 25 years ago now! Like with everything, you get what you pay for. If you buy from a kitchen specialist shop, then of course you will receive specialist design and advice. If you buy from a shop that sells everything from cement to pot plants, they cannot give you the same level of expertise. Any fitter working for the 'sheds' will tell you that they inflate the price because generally the the cabinets will need to be modified to fit the kitchen, something will be missing or supplied wrongly, and will involve at least one return visit to finish. All of this has to be costed in.

Buy from a specialist, who will measure, design and take responsibility for his errors, and the fitter will charge half of the price quoted (no return visits, no headaches, no problems, etc).

    Good luck !
