What's the deal?
A great spot to keep the kids entertained this summer if you're a business owner. This 15ft pool is available in Costco stores for £187 and comes with a pump, a heater and a solar cover. Costco says it's likely to have stock in until July/August though this email now goes out to over half a million people so if you really want one it's worth grabbing one quick
What do I need to do?
Costco membership is available to business owners/managers and their families. If you don't already belong you'll need to have proof of trading with you in order to become a member. To save time print out and fill in the application form PDF from the website before you go and remember to take appropriate proof that you're a business owner.
Membership costs £23.50 (including VAT) which covers you and your spouse for 12 months. You can also buy membership cards for family at a cost of £13.10 (including VAT) for each of the first six cards. You need to have your photo taken at the store, which will be used to create your card. If you're not sure where your nearest store is there's a list on the Costco website. Cardholders can take up to 2 guests with them but only the cardholder can make purchases. Costco doesn't take credit cards so you'll need to make sure you have your cheque book, debit card or cash with you.

I saw an enormous 15ft frame pool at Costso yesterday for £187 includes pump and heater. It seems like a good deal to me.

I think it also includes a solar cover and ladder. Yes it's a great deal.
Shame I purpose built a 14ft patio at the end of my garden to contain the 13ft pool I purchased from B&Q last year for £129 and it was not even a frame pool. Then I added a solar cover for £40 and a heater (which hardly makes a difference) for £99, making the total cost of the smaller pool with accessories almost £270.0 -
I bought a Costco pool about six years ago. It was a 12' one and, given the fun we had out of it, was the best thing I've ever purchased. The new deal is even better; Makro do something similar. Can I help?0

Does anyone know how warm the water gets with the heater, its a 3kw?
thanks0 -
Hi
I have a 10ft pool and a 3kw heater. It got up to 32 degrees last year. Thats pretty warm. I have read that 3kw is recommended up to 12ft pools. So a 15ft+ pool might struggle to get 25degrees maybe. Anyway, that amount of water is going to take a lot of heating. Which costs a lot of money.......
It cost me about £300 on electricity  over 4 months last year to run my pool. Mostly because all the heat disappears though the sides (not insulated). But it was worth it. Had a lot of usage. Looking forward to setting it up this year......soon maybe!!
Any one got anymore detail, commentsHKP

So what are the rules regarding these pools and the need for water meters? If you have a permanent swimming pool then you must have a water meter. How do the water companies view these pools?
It could be argued that they are temporary but they take a huge amount of water and I can see the water companies saying that you need a meter.

Check your boards website. Mine says up to 10000 litres is acceptable without a meter.
I believe the Costco pool is a little over that, but I doubt they are going to check on you unless a neighbour reports you to them.0 -
10ft pool uses about 3500 litres of water. Didnt really notice a dent in the water bill (im metered) and I had to fill it twice last year.
11 degress is toooooooooo cold  Maybe a wimp, but a warm wimp.
Welldone for getting that much use from your pool :THKP

If my maths is correct 3500 lites is 3.5 cubic metres which based on Anglian Water's charges wold costabout 3.72 for the water and 4.14 for the associated sewerage charge.
Probably not advisable in areas with a hosepipe ban tho'0 -
My mother in-law got one the other year from Costco for the kids The kids loved it and it caused murder between them, as it would do
. My mother in-law wouldn’t let the kids in it without the water being changed every day  I don't think her bill changed in ay way. The best things in life are for FREE!!!If you like what you see and find this info useful, please use the thanks button. It costs nothing and means so much.0
