sent original claim letter to GE Money as thats who our loan was with. they sent back a letter saying that as Freedom Finance had arranged the loan, they were repsonsible for the PPI. so sent letter to them stating claim and reasons. Today got a letter from them stating that they were not responsible and is a company called Bespoke Finance (formally Karacus). Freedom have sent them apparently, our letter. However this company are in Gibraltar. So, is our claim valid?? is a company in Gibraltar bound by uk law/rulings??
or has anyone else had any successful claims from this company
or has anyone else had any successful claims from this company

Hi hun
Yes there have been a few on here over the recent months, and I'm sure this can still be a claim here, hopefully someone who have had dealings with these will post up as well, you could always ask the Financial ombudsman service for the contact details otherwise or maybe see what they have to say if they think you have a case or not.

I think there may be the same rulings and again the FOS will or should be able to confirm this to you.
Good luck and please keep us informed, thanks.;)

have emailed Financial Ombudsman as i am not sure what to do next.
i have also emailed the [TEXT DELETED BY FORUM TEAM] who is mentioned in the letter from freedom finance and the address no longer accepts emails.
has anyone had any success at all from this company??'Children are not things to be moulded, but are people to be unfolded'0 -

Just bumping this for the other Bespoker who had a complaint with Firstplus/Bespoke to show that the FOS is taking the complaint of jill1974 against the lender (GE money) and not Bespoke.0

FOS is taking my complaint as thePPI is with GE Money. thanks to GE Money sending me a letter stating that my 'insurance policy' was due to expire, otherwise i think i may have given up.
i would urge anyone who has had PPI claim problems to contact the FOS.
have had the complaint form already from FOS, just waiting on the forms from GE Money now.

well finally got a copy of our loan agreemnet from GE Money.
there is a box that is ticked regarding the ppi but no other info. in the terms there is lots of info bout what happens if you pay the loan back early but none bout the ppi.
i think this could be a deciding thing cos the PPI box is on their paperwork, its not a diffferent form at all. i thought it would have to be a different section. and the figures all include the PPI so its not set out as a different contract. nor does it state that the PPI is not with GE Money.
tbh the tick in the PPI box looks nothing like a tick i or DH would do. but thats another story...
so all the letters and forms have been sent to the FOS. so fingers crossed guys!!!
will let you all know as soon as i here something from them.

have kept a copy of all letters as well.
All in all, whatever conditions there are for your loan would also apply to the PPI (little did most of us know) and this is why it makes it so wrong.
Good luck with this and keep us posted.0 -
You guys may recall that I have been telling you this all along. The claim should be against the lender and not the broker.
This will apply to all cases where the lender has arranged the ppi. The only time the claim should be against the broker is on the rare occassion when the broker has physically arranged the insurance rather than simply assisting by ticking a box on the application form.I am a former Broker, former IFA and former compliance officer, for my sins.
However, I have since seen the light.0 -

Your PPI terms and conditions would actually be a seperate document which they are supposed to send to you before you sign for the loan but most (like myself) had nothing cause it was not until we had the loan that it was added as a "condition".

i did ask GE Money for a copy of the PPI agreement and this is what they sent. all on one form. am thinking now also to call the insurance company and see if they have something with our signature on it. may play a little dumb when i call them...
will keep you all informed as to how i get on.'Children are not things to be moulded, but are people to be unfolded'0
