]Here's[/url] the recommended advice, but it's quite indepth so it probably is easier for people to just switch to another browser temporarily..
Anyone on Vista should be running IE with DEP regardless.0 -
Millions warned not to use Internet Explorer after Chinese fraudsters use security flaw to hijack computers
Ten of millions of people who access the web using Microsoft's Internet Explorer could be vulnerable to having their computer hijacked because of a serious new security flaw. The U.S. software giant urged people to switch to rival browsers such as Firefox, Opera or Safari, until the bug has been fixed.
The problem, first revealed last week, allows criminals to take over computers and steal passwords if the user visits an infected website.
As many as 10,000 sites have already been compromised to take advantage of the flaw, according to anti-virus software producer Trend Micro.
So far the websites, which are mostly Chinese, have been used to steal computer game passwords which can be sold on the black market.
Time to ditch IE
Get firefox HERE
Install the no script plugin as to prevent exploits in suspicious web site HERE
Check regularly with you Anti virus and update it Free AV HERE (AVG)

Please excuse my stupidity but I have Vista and have just downloaded firefox but do I need the no script plugin too?:o
I already have Superanti spyware and AVG anti-virus plus firewall...is this suffice?? Thanks0 -
Saying "I use FF, so I'm OK" may be a bit naive, as this may well not be the case. No browser is buttoned up tight and FF is certainly not water tight.

Using the add ons to plug it up should help though...........

If you're using Vista with UAC enabled then you can completely minimise the threat of this vunerability by right clicking on the Icon for IE7, click Run as Administrator then go into Tools > Internet Options Advanced and tick the box for "Enable memory protection to mitigate online attacks" click Apply and then Ok.0
