Interestingly, Firefox has been updated to 3.0.5. (Yesterday?)
This upgrade includes fixes for 3 critical security issues.
I only upgraded to 3.0.4 yesterday morning after running a Kaspersky IS 2009 scan which warned that my version was iffy.
Dunno if this is connected with the IE issues."It's nice to be important but more important to be nice"

The 3.0.5 routine update has been scheduled for yesterday for weeks upon weeks if I remember correctly.
I think it was mostly coincidence that it coincided with the IE issues.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

If you're using Vista with UAC enabled then you can completely minimise the threat of this vunerability by right clicking on the Icon for IE7, click Run as Administrator then go into Tools > Internet Options Advanced and tick the box for "Enable memory protection to mitigate online attacks" click Apply and then Ok.
I did the above as u mention but since then everytime I open internet explorer it says internet explorer has stopped working then a balloon appears in the right tray saying Data Exectution Prevention has closed internet explorer.
HELP what do I do how do I fix this. (i'm having to use firefox for short term dont really like using this soo need to get internet explorer back asap)
Thanks0 -

Run windows update and install any updates it wants to.
If you are effected, there should now be a patch available from Microsoft. I've just done a Vista machine.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

I would imagine right click on IE icon and run as administrator. Click on tools, then click on Internet Options then the advanced tab. Scroll down to the Security heading and uncheck the box that says "Enable memory protection to mitigate online attacks", press apply and ok.
This should reverse what you did earlier. My suggestion and/or advice is my own and it is up to you if you follow it, please check the advice given before acting on it.0
