First Direct: Make an easy £25 in 15 minutes!

I got a mail shot today from First Direct. It offers £25 to anybody who opens a standard bank account with them.

All you need is a credit balance of one hundred pounds (£100) before 31 March 2006. After 28 days the account is credited with a further £25.

-At which point you can close the account and do a runner with your loot- if you so choose!

You can do all this by calling 0800 24-24-24, and set it up.

You might need to quote # V6817 5326501, which appears on the mailshot. They also do a credit-check.

Took me 15 minutes from the moment i dialled.

Do you have to leave teh £100 in until the account is credited? or could you pay it in on day 1 and take it out on day 2??

I cross posted this here, perhaps a merge or something is in order. Anyway, to answer S_a_r_a's question, the exact wording on the mailshot is:

PS Don't forget that once you've opened your first direct bank account and have a credit balance of £100, we'll give you £25, providing you do so by 31 March 2006.

...so it's a bit unclear, but it sounds to me like they credit you with the £25 after you pay in the £100, not on the 31st March. Although, to be sure, you could pay it in on the 30th March;).

As i am aware, the £100 has to be in the account for 28 days to qualify. I figured that that equates to 25% interest p/a for a 28 day "investment"....not bad!

Weird.. I applied for Egg Savings online and they have gotta send stuff for me for additional checks.. just applied to first direct but again have gotta send stuff to me for additional checks... I've checked myself on experian and my ID comes up ok.. never had probs before until now!

Oh well still got it though!!! I asked and they said the money has to been in your account for 30days.. from 1st March!!!

doesn;t first direct make you pay over a grand a month in? Maybe that was another offer

if you go on their website the offer is 50 quid and you get 13.50 off quidco too!

I got my application today signed and sent it back. I my mum applied to but hers is different (mine was grey hers green) they given her a cc she hadn't asked for!! and no OD. .so I'm ringing up for her tomorrow!!!
