Hi all. Absolutley furious!!

Bean with AOL for ages. got my MAC code and was looking around. Called Tiscali and joined up, thought better of it a few days later and cancelled. Still with AOL but MAc code good for a month so looking around.
What happens next, get home from work no internet. After looking around on the PC i decided to call AOL. after a while AOL work out that Tiscali have not cancelled the line transfer and have stolen the line!!
not content with that though they have cancelled my membership!!
So, now sitting here with broadband rental to AOL which i cant use and a line that belongs to Tiscali that i cant use. Currently using an old dial up connection.
I cant call Tiscali until tommorow, luckily i need that much time to calm down.
I can see this taking about 2 weeks to sort out.
Anyway feel better now.

    You did right telling Tiscali to stick it.Read on...........

    I've just sacked Tiscali,after being with them for about 23 months.

    This week,my speeds were as low as 200kbps,which,when you consider I'm on a 2mb package,is appalling,even by their standard.

    What is also funny,is that they now deny me access to the broadband forum once I've logged in,but if I'm not logged in,it's there and I can read it.

    I've just signed up with F2S,which is a couple of quid a month more,but I don't mind providing they give me the service,and the best bit is,it's a monthly contract,so if they get slack,they get the boot as well.

    I signed up with them because they have had some good write up's,are reasonably priced,their CS seems to be good, (although a little restricted on the times they are open,) you appear to speak to someone in ENGLAND,not India,are now owned by Pipex,who have also had good reviews in the past,and if your migrating,there's no charge.

    See for yourself.

    How did you escape from Tiscali? Have they started givig out MAC numbers? I'm wanting to get rid, but dreading the palaver! :eek: Lots of encouragement needed........ :o

    Please rest assured that Tiscali takes complaints very seriously (NOT). In order to resolve your problem, please attach the enclosed line filter to your BT socket and use the enclosed modem. Also please re-enter your password. That should fix your problem.

    Tiscali are indeed giving MAC codes out,but when you ring up,they'll try like hell to keep your custom.

    I applied for mine last Thursday,and the switch over takes place this Friday.

    Tell them to put it where the sun don't shine.

    Hi Quinny! I think I'm going to wait until after Christmas to do the escaping thing. I need to gather my strength for any hassle :o and I'm very very busy at the moment and are you getting the idea that I'm being a wimp??!! :rolleyes: Actually, I'm a bit concerned that I'll be left in limbo (all those horror stories about leaving Tiscali!) and am reliant on the computer for transferring funds to DS at Uni, Xmas shopping, etc. But I will do it eventually, honest!
    Course, if you can PROMISE me it will all go smoothly, I might be persuaded to do it sooner rather than later.......... :p

    Well,as I post this,it's my last day on Tosscali.
