£100 To Open A Current Account With The Cooperative Bank

Options
Co-Op are offering a £100 for anybody who opens there new Current Account Plus Account. This offer is only available in the branches and not telephone banking although you can phone up the branch and apply over the phone.

they are not advertising on the website as it is a branch only incentive but it is across the country. ring them on 01332 294110 or 08000 287287 and they will explain all.

terms of account:

£800 per month paid into the account for a minimum of 3 months. (the £100 will be paid after the 3rd month)

£200 overdraft and a linked savings account given to you as part of the account.

What i like about this offer is that they dont make you transfer all your direct debits etc over from your main Bank account and you do'nt have to have your salary paid into either. Just make sure £800 is credited for 3 months.

You need a reference code for the incentive I was told.

Doesnt look that way. People have been getting it.
Save saynoto0870.com in your favorites, and stop giving companies more £££ dialling 0870 numbers when you can dial freephones or cheaper alternatives
call your credit card company, tell them that you want to leave, 99% of the time theyll lower your APR%
Remember when that Bank Manager or Salesperson smiles at you, all he sees is £ notes. Dont forget the motto, "the wider their grin, the more debt your in"

Saw this post yesterday and thought it was worth checking out.. heres what I found:

It is genuine & you shouldn't need any code now

You get £100 if you fund their Current Account Plus with £800 or more for three months (some reports say you get it after the first month).

    Cons:
Requires a credit search (which I failed sad.gif ) as it comes with a £200 fee free overdraft (not an option to have it without to avoid the check)

In branch only - not publicised or available on net (although account can be operated online) You can ring a branch and apply over the phone however.

    Pros:
No fee (Plus only relates to the fact you get a debit card and overdraft and you have to credit the £800/month to get that)

£100 into a linked savings account

You don't have to switch salary or SO/DD to be eligible

Apparently was available in only a couple of branches as a trial but should now be available in all branches, CSA wasn't sure how long it would be around for. From the point of view of the credit search they use Experian, my recent raft of applications (for stoozing purposes) obviously has counted against me, however she said I could try again if the offer was still on once those searches aren't as fresh. They don't have an underwriter you can talk to to explain the situation, if the computer says no thats it sad.gif

In contrast, I've just rung their Head Office and was told the offer is only available if you've received a marketing flyer.

    Hmmm?

In the Wolverhampton branch at least there are posters all over the walls advertising it, they had no problems fitting me in to put the application through.

You can apply over the phone.. I believe the number in the OP is for the Derby branch, 01902 429232 is the number for the Wolverhampton branch. No code/flyer etc.. required here.

Maybe the roll out to all branches is not complete yet...

Best of luck with the credit score.. doesn't seem to favour stoozers. Easy £100 if you can clear that hurdle :)
