Two Spanish mini-cruises for £48

What’s the deal?

Ferry operator P&O has launched new 3-night mini-cruises from Portsmouth to Bilbao for £48 online. Not bad for one, but as it's a new thing it’s trying to promote them and is currently advertising book one person and another goes free.

When can you travel?

The cruise must be booked in the next 4 weeks but travel can be between now and 19 December.

We've already done that one, Martin!!!!!
    I haven't got one!
  • I've been on this trip several times. It's a really good offer.

The boat is nice the prices in the restaurants are reasonable when you compare it with the likes of DFDS (you could even pop in the duty free shop and get stuff to take back to your cabin).

If your interested in Whale & Dolphin spotting then this is an ace trip, there is a large variety of marine mammals in the bay of biscay to spot, bottle nosed dolphins, common dolphins, striped dolphins, fin whales, pilot whales and if you're lucky the odd sperm whale.

The weather in the channel can be a bit iffy this time of year, but if you get good weather this this is a great break

I went on this cruise a couple of times a few years ago and at that time it was £49 for one so this really is a bargain.
  • P&O also do mini cruise's from hull to Rotterdam / Amsterdam or Bruges

Similar sort of price but only a 2 night cruise. Book online.

Okay - daft question - and perhaps taking the low price to the extreme..............

Does this include any meals at all???? I am assuming not, but cannot find any details about it.

I've done this on the Pride of Bilbao 5 times always in November or February - It has been very rough every time - on the last trip we came back a day late as we had been bobbing about for 24 hours not able to get anywhere, the ship got damaged, they couldn't serve hot food and drink and we all had to sit on the floor - even the captain was wearing seasickness bands! It was pretty scary but I loved it and most definately have sealegs so it was fun - lots of my friends didn't surface from their cabins. I actually found it difficult once back on land as It felt like the floor was moving.

The ship is fab - take some food with you to save pennies and don't leave your perfume on the side of the sink in your cabin if it's rough. The entertainment was really good (when it was calm enough) !

I live too far away to travel to portsmouth now unfortunately but I would recommend it - if you are a good traveller!
  • This deal seems too good to miss - but does anyone know what time it gets back to Portsmouth?

I know it's a daft question, but will I be able to be at work for 9am on the Monday morning?! (I live a couple of hours from Portsmouth)

    thanks Martin.

arniejrim, cheekymole, you say you've done this trip, but for £48 do you just get lumbered with the cheap cabins hidden away in the depths of this ferry located somewhere near the noisey engine rooms where its too warm to breath properly at night? _pale_

Also I ask the question too, are there any meals included?
