    Yeah, anything with:
    Club La costa,
CLC (Exhibitions, enterprises, you name it !!)
and your reference number, avoid, hang up, tell them to go and ..........

Unfortunately, these scumbags rent space from commercial call centres ie, x hours per week or 1000 calls per week, they wouldn't employ their own people to do these jobs. So unless these commercial call centres send them packing, they will still call us every day.

More worrying though is who do they buy their databases off ???

I just had the call and I asked outright if it was Timeshare which was denied. Basically you are only considered a likely timeshare buyer if you own your house and are married - that's why they ask.

Thought I'd check out the phone number and here we are. What did we do before the internet and MSE to help us?!

I received a letter from Club La Costa yesterday inviting me to take part in their winter promotion and offering me 7 nights' luxury accommodation plus flights for up to 4 people valued at up to £1500. All I had to pay was an administration fee of £29.50 per person etc. The letter was signed by, and included a photo of (although not very clear/flattering), a well-known television personality.

I put the letter straight for shredding but out of curiousity checked the web & this site to see if anything was reported. If it is the television personality (and another site mentioned a different celeb) endorsing this I wonder why they do it (apart from the obvious reason) because of the bad publicity it could attract?

I don't know where they got my name/address from as I never participate in 'surveys' of any sort.

Hope no-one loses out because of these letters.

I got the call today, usual story it seems, I haven't won the main prize holiday to the Caribbean but "happy days", I've won a 7 day holiday to somewhere in Europe if I call 0800 0086115 etc etc...
They got my details from 2minutedraw.com, so that's another lame website to avoid (especially as the draw I entered on there was for £2000 in High Street vouchers!!)
Well done this forum for highlighting these scams!!

I didn't enter a holiday competition either. I entered a comp to win a Wii

I got a call from them today, saying I'd entered a comp on Mutual Points and had won the runner up prize of 7 nights blah blah. The guy knew my address, email add and also that I was living with my partner.
Was told to call 0800 008 6115 and quote MUTUAL49R851 that they are open til 8pm but if I call before 4pm I can have 2 free tickets to a west end show of my choice.....Thought it was too good to be true so am glad I googled it first...though as its an 0800 number and they will be paying for the call Im tempted to call them lol!

9th March 2007 and they are still "Giving Away" one of 5 Holidays in Europe!

I am so lucky! Yeah right!

I always google telephone number to ensure they are not scams and sure enough it is.

How can we put an end to this type of thing.

I've just had the call from these delightful people saying I'd won a european holiday for up to 4 people and only had to pay £29.95 each for the flights.

I asked them if this was a timeshare, and of course he said no.

I just had to go to London to pick up the tickets! Yeah right.

Went on to tell them that having to pay for something doesn't in my mind constitute a win.
