No Buying Toiletries in April Challenge!

Instead of buying soap I just remembered that I had some Lush products stashed away and, lo and behold, there was a soap thing lurking amongst them. I'm not a mad fan of Lush stuff really (Xmas pressies) but I will perservere and use them up.
Am going to attempt a Dead Sea Mud face mask later - I won a load of products a while ago and have never tried them.
You lot will make me beautiful! (It'll be a bit of a job though!)
As far as I can see its just cotton wool pads, deodorant and toothpaste to buy in the next week or two - am quite enjoying this!0 -
Hi all
I started posting on the january thread and then somewhere along the way got lost with the Feb and March thread, occasionally popping in and out but not posting.
I have still been trying to keep to the challenge and am slowing working my way through my stash, or I was until yesterday when my teenage daughter had a clearout and dumped a large carrier bag of toiletries on my bed stating it was my fault for buying her too many  I feel like I have gone back a month or two now but am determined to keep it up but I think its going to be a long haul.
I have had to buy a couple of things DD ran out of over the past couple of months and have picked up a few freebies/cheapies along the way but I have definitely changed my ways and for the better. Also taking a similar outlook with regard to other things like food I overbuy so I am sure am saving quite a bit, though I haven't been keeping a record.
I will try to keep up with this thread and thanks for the good feedback on things to buy/avoid.0 -
Thankyou both for the congrats - sadly no,dont own the colt (though I tried !!) have to make do with his mother - who I love very very very much... and am putting in foal to a cob x this year, but Im planning to put her to a TB next year for me to keep and race it... with a bit of luck she'll have a filly and I can keep the line going !!! (thats the plan anyway - I dare say it will change at least a million times before the foal next year is born!!)
LOL, whatever you get is good. If its a colt you can still keep the line going...if he turns out as well as his brother.0 -

Used up 2 deodorants today.
Went to work with 1 armpit smelling of Dove Go Fresh, the other armpit smelling of Soft & Gentle Cool Breeze.
Hope no one noticed.:D

~welcome **sde*~:)
everyone is really friendly here. some of us are doing really well, others (like me!) are work in progress. There are different ways people save, some of us put money in a put when we use something up, some are really pleased if they resist a spend and total up that. either way, the gameplan is to use what you have, use it well and don't buy anything that you don't need. welcome aboard.
I'm off to do a bit of pampering, with a hot bath and some Elemis. :ADeclutter 300 things in December challenge, 9/300. Clear the living room. Re-organize storage

Hi sde!
Haven't finished anything today but am close to finishing a couple of things. I really don't need to get anything this month but am setting a £20 limit for essentials. Would like to get some more Avon overnight hair elixir but don't want to pay the delivery charge so will leave that for a bit. Used a little bit of the fcuk pure range today and I LOVE it! Possibly more so than soap ad glory . I was always put off the range by the foul smelling stuff in the pink bottles.
Looking forward to getting my lucky dip from Montague Jessunue

Hi ladies, thanks to bronnie for the lovely new thread and welcome to all the newbies. My challenge is £5 budget this month, there is a good chance i will need to buy tooth paste and eye make up remover but hopefully that should be it.
To those that have been selling on ebay well done and isnt it fab, ive saved around £300 from doing some ebay as well as the no spending on toiletries so have already started putting money aside for my car insurance ans tv license in oct:T.
Now someone was going to a ball( sorry carp memory at mo) how lovely and hope you have a great time. Eklynne (sp) hope all goes well with uni and nice to hear from you. Sales addict glad to see hear from you too and forget the M&S face cream you have saved yourself some dosh, and something better always comes up:).
Well ive been so busy, which is great but going out on schools nights has taken it out of me this week. The kids are all of until the 21st april now and must say am dreading it, not because i dont enjoy having that at home but this is only the second longish period of time the whole family inc ny husband have been at home together and theh last one ddid not go well (xmas) plus Dh's meds are being changed as we speak so how thats going to affect his behaviour nobody knows. So im praying the weather is good and we can escape out doors for most of it.
