Every time I go into my local Tesco, I am given a different rule on using vouchers.....I was told that I could use any vouchers, so long as I had no duplicates, up to 50% of the bill and have stuck to this rule for a while.

Went in yesterday and none of my usual SA were on....went to a young girl who looked friendly and gave her my vouchers....she examined them carefully but still put all through until she came to the Daily Mail book token.

She called for the supervisor....I was just saying I'd take it back and it didnt matter...but too late....

Anyway I was quite relieved when the same supervisor came that had told me the original rule that I'd been sticking too so I thought I'd be fine.....

He said if I'd bought the product, I could use any amount of vouchers, If not up to 3.....well everything that she had already put through were for H&B that I had bought so she asked if I had any more book tokens...when I said yes, she said do you want me to take those off too??

So I was able to use 3 x book tokens and only paid £3 when the original bill had been £61!! I then had a conversation with her about not knowing what was okay to use and what was not, given the fact they seem to change the rules so often and the SA said she was just being careful with the book tokens because they had been given alot of forgeries and copied vouchers and they had been told to watch out for them!!

Each to their own though Dude, maybe we'll agree to differ on this one?

No worries - different views = healthy debate.

I can't seem to find any good voucher codes that work for points apart from the XXCD74 which I have already used on mine and my hubby's clubcards!:j

I have opened a few virtual accounts so that I can use the points voucher a few more times!!! I used a coupole of free email addresses from hotmail. I have been told that these accounts work the same as the cards and means I will also get more clubcard mailings with more vouchers too!!!

How lucky were you - I actually tried to buy the book today using the voucher and was turned down. Supervisor was called and she said that tesco do not take book tokens even if you buy the book.
Needless to say I had the book voided from my bill.

Just goes to prove that Tesco do not have any policy at all regarding vouchers/coupons.

ARGH!! about these clothes vouchers that work on anything! I havent checked this particular thread for a few days and didnt know about them.
I went to a tesco a bit out of the way for me today and there was a huge pile on the CS desk which I was stood by for a good 5 mins while exchanging! I looked at them and thought its a shame there arent any more clothes ones about at the moment, but I grabbed a handful anyway, not realising they expire tomorrow. Will have to pop down tomorrow after work and see if I can use a few.
Patty, fancy a little trip out? :rotfl:

By the by, I finally managed to find a lovely CS lady who said 'unfortunately without a reciept, you can only exchange your (free) clothes for non-food items', obviously not knowing thats exactly what I wanted to hear! Managed to get some bits, magazines, toys etc but I still had 17p to spend, she said dont worry about it and gave me 17p out of the till, which has got to be my most profitable shop to date :D

Although - STILL havent managed to find my suitcase from the magazine yet!

Sure they expire today so you'll have to go tonight. Somebody can correct me if I'm wrong.
    If I had known then what I know now . . .

thanks to pts, use this to do a small clothes shopping with mom in law yesterday, also got some toiletries, healthcare, all coupons went through fine, except that i messed up the total when some clothes were reduced and i did not know. don't know what to buy with these, then think about i have been using the same duvet for years, it is time to have a new one, do another shop today to use them all up before expiring date, got new duvets and other daily items, all scanned fine.

just found out razor blades are classified as toiletry, i used to think they are beauty.

You're not wrong, they do expire today, I posted yesterday, so when I said tomorrow, its today, IYSWIM.

I did manage to use a few of the £6 "clothes" coupons this afternoon, a £52 shop down to £1.77 with a few newspaper ones used as well. Really pleased and would have used more but not 100% they would work, SA dependant of course and couldnt afford anymore if the coupons didnt work.

Thanks for the spot on this OP, not sure if it was here or PTS, but thanks anyway!
