  • Just bought one of these today in hope that it might get me up in time for college in the mornings....

Was expecting it to be bigger, but still....it's decent sound for the size of those speakers.

Plays any type of iPod, even iPod shuffle (except the shuffle won't work with the alarm clock).

    Also comes with AUX cable.

    Nice for £22.50
    Thanks to OP
  • I got mine from Argos Extra at Victoria St, Grimsby yesterday. Fantastic bargain, couldn't believe the sound quality (and whilst not being a total fusspot, quality is important). My backlight is white, not blue but it's a superb unit. Many thanks to the OP.

You can turn the back light OFF by pressing the dimmer button. I can now sleep at night!

Have hummed and hahhed over this for ages, but the reviews seem pretty good so I have reserved one.
Have already bought my son a new ipod nano for Christmas so this is going away for his birthday in January.
I just hope its compatible with ipod nano 2nd generation.

  • Sorry to say it doesn't seem to fit 2G iPod Nanos.

I'm tempted to take a hot knife to the nano insert to make it fit - it's made for the 1G Nanos, and because the 2G nanos have rounded edges they are slightly wider and don't fit!

    Annoying

Of course you can connect your nano but it's not a secure fit, and knocking it when reaching to switch off the alarm could break the connector :(

One other good feature of this though is the Shuffle port is just a USB port - which you can use to plug in anything that charges via USB.
I've got my DS lite charging through it!

If you look at this alternate thread http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=330971&page=2
it seems as though you can use the adaptor plate that comes with the 2nd gen (latest) nano to get it to fit it correctly :j

It does fit the adapter that comes in the 2G Nano box - be warned it is a tight fit and does prove difficult to remove!

Thanks for the USB tip - I have reserved another one of these as I want to check out the internals and get it talking to the PC!

Not sure whether to buy or not now as my son will have 2nd generation ipod nano.

There again I have old nano so it would be suitable for me. Will have to weigh up if i would really use it or if I am just buying as it is so cheap (there again, nothing new there unfortunately.)
