Hello! I've done my own baskets before but just found this thread and I love it! Wondering if anyone could give me some idea?
My friend is 21 this year and for a present I think i'm going to do her a basket with 21 things in! Budget isn't too much of an issue, but I really want it to be fun and special! My friend had a baby 5 months ago and probably needs a bit of pampering.
I think I will include a bit of make-up, and smellies, but what else can I give her? I would really like a fun and functional basket, which she will be able to use again.
Thanks
Waddy xx
This month's Glamour comes with a free Benefit lipgloss attached to the front. You could include the mag and the lipgloss in your basket.
Chocolate is always a good bet - unless she's on a diet! :rotfl:
How about some vouchers to offer yourself for a night of babysitting; to do a basketful of ironing; to give a freebie manicure???

Matalan do some great "paper trays" which are big baskets for keeping newspapers and magazines in - they're great for using for a hamper as they have a functional use in their own right!

They do something very similar to those in Primark, just in case you don't have a Matalan near you.Enjoying the power and freedom of letting things go.

Firebox.com have a half price multi tool pen thing today - it's £4.97, but you can find a £5 voucher easily enough - RBS have one - and that covers delivery and makes the cost only £3.96.
It might be good in man hampers.

Do you happen to know how much are they in Primark? I'll have to have a look out for them in there!0 -

Sorry I don't - I only saw them out of the corner of my eye when I whizzed in to look for something else. But I can't imagine they would be expensive.Enjoying the power and freedom of letting things go.

There's another thread Mary? .........How on earth will I get any h/w done :rotfl:
I did a hamper for my sister's 40th & put in 39 things like a jokey keyring; fairly decent pen; handbag-size packet of tissues; pretty emery board; a set of false teeth made from rock[the sweet..not the mineral]pair of tights; body spray; really nice smellie soap & matched up the bath gloop, flannel & smellie candle......& I used a cheapie vanity[sp!] case as the 'basket'. This thread alone just shows how talented us MSE's can be eh!!!
The have been some truely beautiful hampers on here, and now my lil brain has gone into mass overload thinking about what I can do this christmas (last year was the 1st time I didnt go flying out to the shops 1 week before the big day and think "where do I start" lol) now after seeing this thread I have decided to be uber super organised this year and creative!!!!!!
However........the main christmas present for the whole family this year is a holiday abroad later on in 2009 (cheating I know but hey, i may as well kill 2 birds with 1 stone! We normally only get as far as Blackpool, and bearing in mind I only live 20 mins away from there, they will be thrilled by the prospect of getting on a plane!) So I have decided to do a large hamper for each of my 3 children, I thought of using storage boxes rather than hampers (that way they can use them for all their presents) however, Im stumped as to what to put in them!! So if any MSE's have their chrimbo (money saving) hats on I could really do with some great ideas that wont cost the earth (the deposit alone for the holiday is making me cry!)
My eldest ray of sunshine is an 11 year old boy, football mad, mathematics whizz who will have just started high school. He's at that nightmare age right now as all he seems to be into is anything computer/xbox/wii related, although he is a fan of Dr Who (you will see a trend here trust me, I think they get it from me, as I want to become Dr Who's wife - just dont tell the OH!)
My middle boy is 8 (he has Auditory Processing Disorder so is running a few years behind development) he loves Dr Who, cars, dinosaurs and building things.......a block of lego will keep him entertained for a week!) With CJ's difficulties it means he is only just learning how to read, and he gets easily confused if he's given anything complicated to master.
Last but in no means least is my youngest girl (aka Satan - who said girls where easier than boys?!) She will turn 7 just before chrimbo (yet another reason why i need to keep costs down! She loves Dr Who, high school musical, causing chaos oh and frogs....she tried keeping one in her room last summer.....but thats another story!! In fact my girl is animal mad!!
If you can think of anything at all which I can add, please let me know, Id be eternally grateful!!!!!
