Just had to tell you I made a nice profit on a horse today. Bet £20 with B*yles at odds of 3.5 backed at 3.5 for a return of £19.29 so get my final free bet. However they gurantee the best odds and the starting price for this horse was actually 5.5 so that is what they paid out when it won. I got an extra £40 pure profit how cool is that. Wonder if that counts as an ARB.

Seems more and more people are getting into MB so if you are thinking about having a flutter on the Grand National check what free bet offers they are doing or just do it at the bookies. Looks like there is not going to be many free bets kicking around as they know people have happy to sign up anyway.

I have £75 worth of free bets still outstanding so won't be able to do a proper update on my balance until Sunday but right now I am at £1074 which is so nice.

I really should be packing my car to go to Devon for work but I had to update my diary before I go. The press is so full of how many mortgage deals are being pulled and how difficult it is for people to borrow. It sounds like it is really going to hit and I am just pleased I have such a small mortgage left now.

Got DH to pay for our weekend in Devon in May so that saved me £360, we have this arrangement he pays most of the mortage and food and I pay for everything else. He used to earn a lot more than me but over the last few years I have started to pay more of the bills. We do have a joint current account but only to pay the mortgage he pays £750 and I pay £250. I also pay all the overpayments. I use all the Quidco money etc for holidays but the pot is now empty so nice that he paid for the trip.

On the MB front a bit of bad news. Stupidly I got carried away with the old casino on one of the bookie sites. Lost a bit of money so set me back. I don't think I am addicted to gambling but it is not worth taking the risk so have blocked myself out of Betfairs casino now. Will take it a bit slower now as I have used most of the big offers and some might offer more at the bigger events.

Anyway really need to get going have a 3 hour drive ahead of me at least it is a lovely day. I have checked my hotel will have WIFI but if it is £5 an hour I might not do it. My 3G card blocks this site as it has gambling on it....see the irony there......

Just a little update, sitting in my hotel in Devon, luckily I do have wifi so I have been busy on MSE. Signed up for a new bookie, St@nJames you get a free £50 bet. Found a really nice bet on the horses 4.5/4.4 so would loose about 50p. Quite pleased but even more pleased when the horse won and they paid me odds of 5 instead. A nice £26 pure profit guess that is a ARB then.

Looks like lots of people are looking for the free bets on the Gran National and the Betfair offer is a good one. However do use a refer a friend code (PM if you want mine) You will get £20 when you have bet £20 worth and I get £20 once you have 50 Betfair points so if you just use it for the Gran National I wont get anything but I obviously don't mind. Looks like you have to bet £25 to get the free bet so I suggest you sign up to a bookie so you can MB it for min loss. Give me a shout if you need any help.

Got the mortgage statement through this morning, £23,000 left. The offset never goes below £10K so that is saving us roughly £2 a day in interest. Cool I love offsets so pleased I never switched even when everyone was ranting on about how much money I was wasting by not having a discounted rate. With the fees for remortgage now I am staying where I am and I don't mind paying 6%.

Got my bets on for the National. Spent £32 on my free bet money and have so far not matched it. If I had I could have made a £25 return but I am going to Mug punt it with DH just this once. Signed up with B@yles for DH as they should be partner friendly. £250 in free bets but he may have to call to place them when he gets limited as most people do. Got the first £100 bet on no problem this morning. Will take it very very slowly though.

Having a friend over for dinner tonight, cooking Duck breasts. They are so expensive I used to buy them when I lived in Denmark for £2 for two now they are £7 scary...

I shall obviously be watching the football this afternoon, flags and banners everywhere to support Pompey - I think this streets will be deserted this afternoon.
