Just a thought, but what about a little toolbox jobbie for the beer hampers? You need not close the lid---a lot of 'high class' gift boxes have a load of packaging & the top open, & I'm sure the recipient would prefer to find beer mats, coasters, etc than a load of froo-froo tissue:D Or perhaps a wire waste paper basket cuz that can be useful anywhere...or if he drives, what about a rubbish bag that fits over the headrest of the car? Halfords I think...I'll have a aquizz.....
Some ideas I've thought of to go with the beer:-
Bottle openers--at crimbo they did the character ones that talk & things, but I'm sure I've seen key rings with bottle openers on too
Those bath pillows in the shape of ladies appendages
Ditto bbq apron^^^
Nice glass--may even get one with 60 on it, or find somewhere that engraves
Those little jelly beer bottles that taste a little like shandy:p
Sorry...guess it depends on what you want to spend
And Thanks for all your suggestions on my survival kits...just proves that we can do anything once we put our noddles together:D0 -
debenhams have black and white check one sorry dont know the price0

This is definitely not money saving lol, but M&S were doing an offer for black ones for free (might have had some white in them, I forgot to look lol), if you bought 3 for 2 meals. The offer might come up again maybe?
The Range
They're selling lovely lined willow baskets for 99p. They're not easy to spot as they appear to be part of a set of 3, so look for the linen (?) lined baskets first. They're not real deep but they are a decent size, I'd say approximately 14" x 10" so will take a few things imo

Just wanted to post my latest hamper - it's a 30th birthday one for my sister's OH.
He likes kids sweets, so there are plenty of those (FizzWizz, Drumstick Lollies, jelly babies, Mars bars, Haribo, Choc coins etc) in normal and mini size packets filling gaps, along with the Chocolate Tool Kit tin, a large drum of dolly mixtures underneath that, a pack of gourmet jelly beans and the Homer tin which is full of marshmallows.
Then there's the Beano annual, some Avon smellies (also under the toolkit), a bottle each of beer and cider, an Umbro wallet, a keyring multitool and a stress ball.
Everything is packed into a filing/cd box from WHSmiths.
There was lots of sale and special offer shopping for this over the last few months, and all in, it's cost £27.57, with an rrp of £65-ish.
Display-wise it's admittedly not the best, but it's got to travel so I wanted to make sure everything was secure.DFW Nerd no. 884 - Proud to [strike]be dealing with[/strike] have dealt with my debts0 -

Lovely earth mother - really interesting and fun hamper.
Been sorting out bits for my sons box of tricks..........normally pack it in a showbox for postage. We always send 'fun' bit to each other as well as some 'nice' stuff.
This year he's having:
Meccano set to make an aeroplane............lol
Set of stuff to make key rings with tassels (expect his girlfriend will fo that)
Assorted spices
Massage gloves (he's always moaning about this or that ache..........lol)
Olive oil soap
and lastly
I've done a little 'memory box' of a few personal things of his gramps. He had some bits after my Dad died but dad collected so much and I've thinned it out again.........
Drumming badge (from when Dad was a drummer)
Melody maker competition programmes with his name in (he didn't win)
Brass ash tray
A silver coloured arm band (used to wear as a pair to hold shirt sleeves up)
Make a nice sort of bracelet
Little sign Dad made for downstairs toilet door...........hung on the door handle with 'vacant' one side 'engaged' on the other
One of Dads ID tags (he had three of them!)
So I think he'll be well pleased.....................Dad would be too. I'll send a cheque as well as normal but he loves to have 'bits' to open............30 something and still loves the excitement:jMary

I just bought an address book and pen as new from the charity shop and I thought I could put it in a gift box with some stamps, envelopes and notelets for a friend of mine and I was thinking of using a cigar box originally painted but haven't found anyone who smokes cigars yet! Thought it might be a useful idea for someone else:)Pucker up and kiss it Whoville! - The Grinch:kiss:0
